UNION LOS ANGELES SETS A FALL 2026 DATE, NO SPECS

Union Los Angeles will release its Fall 2026 collection on Friday, September 25, in store at its South La Brea Avenue shop and online at unionlosangeles.com. The brand named no pieces, colors or prices in its own announcement, the third notable Union release in seven weeks and the first of the three that carries no collaborator's name attached to it.

Friday, September 25, Is the Third Date in Seven Weeks

Union opened a capsule with Maison MIHARA YASUHIRO on August 7 and followed it with a Dickies Inverse capsule on August 21, two weeks later, before this Fall 2026 collection lands five weeks after that. Three releases inside fifty days is a pace most independent stores cannot sustain without a design partner doing half the work, and this is the one where Union built the product itself rather than splitting the label with a collaborator.

A Nike Dunk Low Pack Is Coming Through the Same Door

Union is also sitting on a two colorway Nike Dunk Low pack for Fall 2026, one built from olive suede in a Bamboo, University Gold and Light Cream mix and the other in Off Noir, University Gold and Dark Ash, both priced at 135 dollars and set to sell through Union, Nike SNKRS and select retail partners. It is a fourth Union linked release inside the same season, and the only one of the four with a confirmed price before launch, which makes the silence around Fall 2026's own pricing look less like an oversight and more like the shop choosing which releases get a spec sheet and which do not.

Chris Gibbs Has Run This Shop Since 2010

Union began in New York in 1989 under James Jebbia and Mary Ann Fusco, and Chris Gibbs started there in 1996 as an entry level employee before relocating to open the Los Angeles outpost in 2003 with his wife and co creative director, Beth Birkett Gibbs. The store has held its South La Brea Avenue address since 2004. New York closed in 2009, Gibbs bought the Los Angeles shop outright in 2010, and it is now the only Union door left anywhere. Under Gibbs and Birkett Gibbs the shop has built outside partnerships too, including a past collaboration with J Crew that put the store's sensibility in front of a mall retail audience it would never otherwise reach. Thirty seven years after the name first went on a storefront, the Fall 2026 collection is one of the few Union releases still designed inside that single remaining building instead of negotiated with an outside label.

No Pieces Named, No Prices Listed

The Fall 2026 announcement follows a pattern Union has used for its last several releases. The Mihara Yasuhiro capsule launched on August 7 with no pricing or lookbook made public, and the Dickies Inverse capsule was announced by construction detail, not by garment count. Fall 2026 continues that habit, giving a date and two purchase channels and nothing else, a strategy that trades a full preview for scarcity and lets the shop floor do the explaining on the morning of the drop.

The Fragment Jordan 1 Still Sets the Bar for a Big Union Release

Union's biggest 2026 moment so far was not a capsule but a sneaker, the Union x Fragment Air Jordan 1 that dropped across five stores in February and drew enough resale interest to draw two separate write ups inside a week. That release had a named designer in Hiroshi Fujiwara, a documented five store rollout and immediate secondary market demand. The Fall 2026 collection has none of that machinery behind it, no named collaborator, no multi store rollout, just a single shop on La Brea and a website, which makes it a smaller bet by every visible measure except the one that matters to Gibbs, that it is entirely his own. Union has spent 2026 alternating between borrowed names, Fragment in February, Mihara Yasuhiro in August, Dickies later that same month, and this one unbranded season built without a co signer, a pattern that reads less like indecision and more like a store testing how much weight its own name still carries on a rack next to bigger ones.
