Atiba Jefferson Returns to Vans With Flea and Halsey

Vans released the second Atiba Jefferson collection on October 8, 2026, 378 days after the first one launched. Designscene calls it United Through Skateboarding 2.0, and Vans' Instagram post names Flea, skateboarder Rowan Zorilla and Los Angeles artist Lauren Halsey as the cast around Jefferson. The Atiba Jefferson Vans collection hands the logo artwork to Halsey, where the first run took its graffiti lettering from HAZE, and it puts Zorilla's portrait on the shoebox.

Half Cab, Old Skool 36+ and a Photo in the Insole

The first collection reached Vans retailers on September 25, 2025, led by a Skate Half Cab on a WaffleCup outsole with Jefferson's photo of John Cardiel on the insole beside artwork by HAZE. A Skate Old Skool 36+ with graffiti inspired logo treatments and skate ready apparel built from archive images came with it, and a second drop followed on October 16, 2025.

The launch party ran at Nova Studios in Los Angeles, where Cardiel DJed, Tony Alva attended and the rock duo Battles played. Jefferson told Dazed Digital, in its September 30, 2025 report, "In my designs, I wanted everything to have a photo reference if possible." He also said the shoes carried art because he did not want the project to read as a signature line, which is why he asked his friend Eric Haze to write his name.

Lauren Halsey Makes the Logos This Time

Halsey, a longtime friend of Jefferson, made the original custom logo artwork for the 2026 collection and also appears in the campaign. Her sculpture park sister dreamer opened March 14, 2026, at Western Avenue and 76th Street in South Central Los Angeles, with eight sphinxes and columns carved with the faces of local people.

Dazed called HAZE Jefferson's friend in 2025, and the HAZE artwork on that collection included Jefferson's name. The 2026 run keeps Jefferson's own photographs in front, with Arisa Trew on the Authentic 44 insole, Geoff Rowley on the Sk8 Hi and Zorilla on the Rowan Z3 box, and gives the logo work to Halsey.

Six Shoes on October 8, a Day Before the Dodgers Pack

Sole Retriever lists six models in the October 8 drop: the Rapid LX in Atiba Gold, the Authentic 44 in Atiba Pink, a Half Cab in Atiba Light Grey, a Sk8 Hi in black and multi, the Rowan Z3 in Atiba Classic Blue and an Old Skool Wafflecup. The listed retail prices are $135 for the Rapid LX, $80 for the Authentic 44, $100 for the Half Cab, $90 for the Sk8 Hi, $90 for the Rowan Z3 and $85 for the Old Skool, with the live prices still marked to be determined.

Each colorway carries a person or a team. Designscene reports that Atiba Gold comes from the Los Angeles Lakers, a team Jefferson still photographs, and that Atiba Pink is a shade he chose himself, with his photo of Arisa Trew landing a 540 at the final Vans Pool Party printed on the insole. The Sk8 Hi wears a Geoff Rowley photo on its exterior. The blue Rowan Z3 comes from the shared Dodgers fandom of Jefferson and Zorilla, and each pair ships with Zorilla's portrait on the box and swing tag.

The Z3 is Zorilla's third signature model, which Sole Retriever reported would release July 1, 2026 in four colorways on an ImpactWaffle outsole, so the Atiba blue recolors a shoe that was a little over three months old. The Dodgers tie also lands in a crowded week: Vans' MLB Los Angeles Dodgers Era and Sk8 Hi reach vans.com on October 9, at $120 and $140, which puts two blue Dodgers inspired Vans releases inside two days.

The apparel is a Cargo Hoodie in pink and black and a Cargo Pant in Bay Leaf and black, each with a custom pocket sized for a point and shoot camera.

Flea Is Named in the Cast and in None of the Listings

Flea appears in the campaign alongside Halsey and Zorilla, and Designscene's account gives him no further role. None of the six models, the two itemized apparel pieces or the Sole Retriever price table carries his name.

His year outside this project is documented elsewhere. His debut solo album Honora came out March 27, 2026 on Nonesuch Records, four days after he played Frank Ocean's Thinkin Bout You on bass and trumpet on The Tonight Show on March 23, 2026. Vans placed a bassist whose 2026 record returns him to the trumpet in a shoe campaign built around a photographer, a skateboarder and an artist.

Six shoes are listed for October 8, 2026, and Flea is in the campaign without his name on any of them.
