The Vans MLB Los Angeles Dodgers Era and Sk8 Hi go on sale on vans.com on Friday, October 9, 2026, the last of three dates spread across eight days. Vans' earlier MLB collections, in 2010 and 2017, covered several teams; this pack belongs to one, and it lands in the middle of the Dodgers' playoff run toward a third straight World Series title. Vans announced the date under a two word tag, "WE OUTSIDE.", and named both shoes in the same line.

October 1, October 2, October 9: The Ladder Vans Built

Vans staged the pack in three steps: Union Los Angeles on October 1, Vans stores on October 2, and vans.com on October 9, according to a Yahoo Shopping buying guide to the pack. One outlet, JustFreshKicks, reports the vans.com drop at 11 AM Eastern and says that time is not confirmed.

The first rung was a raffle. Union Los Angeles opened the pack on October 1 to Los Angeles County residents whose entries were in before 5 PM PST on September 29, with winners collecting in person and showing ID. Pickup ran October 1 between 2 and 8 PM, so the pairs were bought in advance and the store day was a collection point. DodgersBeat reported that the Era's page on Vans' own site carried a "coming soon" notice and listed the colorway as Dodgers Classic Blue / White before the sale.

Canvas, Suede and Holes Cut Before the First Wear

Both shoes pair Dodger blue suede on the toecap and heel with blue and white checkerboard canvas on the side panels, according to Sole Retriever. Hypebeast lists canvas uppers on a vulcanized build, with rubber sidewalls, a foxing stripe and a waffle outsole.

Footwear News, in a September 30 piece by Ian Servantes, describes pre distressed holes that show different fabric swatches underneath, scuffed soles and mismatched outsoles, each carrying a logo. On the Sk8 Hi, the inner side carries the full Dodgers script and an LA logo, and a large embroidered Dodgers patch wraps the heel. Sole Retriever adds white script Dodgers logos on both pairs, co branded gradient insoles printed with "7:10PM" and "Blue Heaven," and red baseball stitching. Sole Retriever lists pre skated distressing on both models, meaning the worn look is part of the product rather than something the buyer earns.

Vans Prices the Pair Above Converse's Brooklyn Chuck 70

The Era is $120 and the Sk8 Hi is $140, both in the Dodgers Classic Blue/White colorway, under style codes VN00152S45K and VN0014YQ45K, in unisex sizing, with no kids' sizing announced. Sneaker Bar Detroit listed the black faux ostrich Brooklyn Dodgers Chuck 70 from Converse and Undefeated at $110, so on retail price alone Vans asks $10 more for the Era and $30 more for the Sk8 Hi.

The materials differ, which keeps the comparison honest. The Converse is a faux ostrich leather upper with a stitched B for the pre 1958 Brooklyn uniform; the Vans is suede and printed canvas built to look broken in. That Converse release ran the same way the Vans pack does now: a raffle that closed April 19, then remaining pairs at select Undefeated stores in Los Angeles and New York on April 20, with Futura fronting the campaign.

One Team After Two Multi Team Collections

Sneaker Bar Detroit writes that "Larger MLB collections arrived in 2010 and 2017 with several teams represented," which narrows this pack to one club where the earlier two spread across several. Footwear News ties the shoes directly to the Dodgers' run at a third straight title, Sole Retriever calls the date "smack dab in the middle of the playoffs," and DodgersBeat describes the release as arriving "just as the club begins another postseason run." DodgersBeat does not tie the shoes to a specific game or player.

The field is crowded. Sole Retriever lists a Converse Chuck Taylor, the Nike Kobe 5 Protro and the Nike Air Force 1 Low among the other Dodgers footwear collaborations of 2026, so Converse and Nike were already on the Dodgers' shoe rack before Vans arrived on October 9.

Vans Has a Second Project With No Date

Vans also introduced a separate collection on October 8 fronted by photographer Atiba Jefferson, with Flea, skateboarder Rowan Zorilla and Los Angeles artist Lauren Halsey, and that collection has no release date and no product list. The Dodgers pair is the one with a date, two prices and two style codes: October 9, $120 for the Era and $140 for the Sk8 Hi, against $110 for Converse's Brooklyn Chuck 70.
