A.PRESSE'S STYLE 02 LANDS AT DOVER STREET MARKET NEW YORK

Style 02 returns to Dover Street Market New York on Saturday, September 19, arriving in the store and online through the DSMNY E Shop. A.Presse has run this season on a Saturday release rhythm since June 6, and every delivery through August 22 landed close to two weeks after the last one. This delivery does not. August 22 was the previous drop, which puts four weeks between it and September 19 instead of two.

Four weeks is not a rounding error on a season built around a two week clock. It is the longest gap A.Presse has put between Style 02 drops since June, and it lands during the week the collection also reached Dover Street Market's doors in London and Paris.

Kazuma Shigematsu Still Calls Himself an Editor

Kazuma Shigematsu founded A.Presse in 2021 out of a flagship in Jingumae, Shibuya, and he still describes his job as editing rather than designing. The label takes American workwear and European military patterns and refines the cut instead of reinventing the silhouette, a method visible in the Washed Silk Cotton Pique 3rd Type Jacket that landed at that address on August 8, a coat cut like rough cotton twill built from silk warp run against a cotton weft. Shigematsu calls the operation a clothing editorial department, not a design studio, a framing he has repeated since the label started. Dover Street Market Is Not A.Presse's Only Door Anymore

Four Weeks Between Deliveries, Not Two

A.Presse opened Style 02 on Saturday, June 6, then landed deliveries on June 20, July 4 and August 8 before reaching Dover Street Market again on August 22, each date arriving close to two weeks after the one before it. September 19 breaks that pattern. Four weeks separate this delivery from August 22, double the rhythm the season had kept since it opened in June, and the first time Dover Street Market's calendar for the label has slipped past two weeks between Saturdays. The pause lines up with the week the collection also reached London and Paris, though A.Presse has not said whether the wider rollout caused the longer wait.

Judge This by the Fabric, Not the Gap

Record labels stagger single release dates to keep an audience checking back. A four week silence after four straight two week Saturdays reads like a delayed single, not a sign the label is slowing down. The Supreme collaboration A.Presse announced earlier this month runs on its own calendar and its own fabric program; Style 02 is the label's own line, and buyers checking Dover Street Market New York on September 19 should expect the same emphasis on construction it has run since June, not a Supreme branded piece.
