YE BROUGHT OUT PLAYBOI CARTI IN HOUSTON ON HALLOWEEN

Ye brought out Playboi Carti at his Halloween night show in Houston on Saturday, October 31, the second time the two shared a stage in 27 days. The first was Sunday, October 4, when Ye opened Carti's closing set at ComplexCon in Los Angeles. Houston turns a festival cameo into a pattern, and it lands on a tour that has built its nights around guests: Ye's Chicago run in September produced guest lists in the double digits.

Ye's Live Concert Tour played Reliant Stadium, the building Billboard lists as NRG Stadium, with an 8 p.m. start and tickets reported sold out ahead of the show. CultureMap's preview described a spherical stage with Earth and moon visuals projected onto it, a bigger frame for a guest entrance than any festival floor. No Houston setlist had been published at the time of writing, so the song titles stay open.

27 Days After ComplexCon, Ye and Carti Share Another Stage

Ye and Carti last shared a stage on October 4 at ComplexCon in Los Angeles, where Carti served as artistic director alongside Hiroshi Fujiwara for the festival's tenth anniversary. ComplexCon ran October 3 and 4 across the Los Angeles Convention Center and Crypto.com Arena, with Carti's Opium label, styled 00pium, and Ken Carson headlining. Complex reported that Carti's pyro heavy closing set opened with a three song guest appearance from Ye, who also performed "Carnival" and "Off the Grid."

Ye and Bianca Censori also walked the convention floor with Carti while security cleared a path through the crowd, according to Sneakz & Beatz. Ye's daughter North West was there too, per Hola. Carti's burner page quoted Ye on September 13, three weeks before the festival, with the hook of "Devil in a New Dress" and no explanation.

Carti has spent the year as the guest nobody sees coming. He opened all three of The Weeknd's Amsterdam ArenA shows in July, then surprised the ÆDEN residency crowd at UNVRS Ibiza alongside Anyma on August 25. On July 9 he took the Beach Please stage in Costinesti, Romania close to 5 AM after a weather delay grounded his flight from Paris. A year of cameos and late sets is the context for a Houston entrance from Ye.

Fifteen Guests on One Night in Chicago

Guests are the format of this tour, not the exception. HotNewHipHop counted 15 on night two of Ye's Soldier Field homecoming on September 4, including Big Sean and Kid Cudi, with Chief Keef joining for "Love Sosa." Night one brought out Big Sean and Twista. Chicago is Ye's hometown, which explains a guest list that long. Houston has no such claim on him, so one name from outside the city carries more weight in a Halloween crowd than another local cameo would.

The tour supports Bully, which Ye released on YouTube in March, and the stadium run has kept adding dates since. A tour zine leaked on the day of the second Chicago show, and Carti's ComplexCon weekend also produced a set of Young Thug CDs handed out at a Sp5der booth that neither artist has confirmed. Houston was the Halloween date, followed by Arlington and Phoenix.

Houston Has Watched Both of Them Before

Houston has seen Ye walk on unannounced and has seen a Carti night collapse. In November 2019 Ye joined Travis Scott's headline set at Astroworld Festival at NRG Park and performed "Follow God," per Rolling Stone, on a bill that also carried Carti. The following week he performed for inmates at two Houston jails, CBS reported.

Carti's own Houston history is rougher. His Narcissist Tour stop at NRG Arena in October 2021 was called off after chaos outside the venue, per Complex, and The Source reported that he afterward called his fanbase a cult. Five years later, Ye gives him a Houston stage on a night the venue was reported sold out.

Arlington Is Next, Then Phoenix

Two shared sets in 27 days makes the Ye and Carti pairing a touring habit rather than a one night event. Carti's album Music arrived March 14, 2025 and Ye's Bully followed in March 2026, a year apart, and the stage is where the two catalogs now meet. Ye's next dates are Arlington on November 7 at AT&T Stadium and Phoenix on November 21.
