Dua Lipa, Tame Impala and SZA Play Coachella 2027

Dua Lipa, Tame Impala and SZA are playing Coachella 2027, the festival's two weekends of April 9 to 11 and April 16 to 18 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. Two of those names, Dua Lipa and Tame Impala, came out of Hits Daily Double's reporting on September 1, 2026, as expected headliners, and SZA's name appears in the reporting that followed.

Coachella has not published its poster yet, so which night each of them closes is still open. What the festival has published is the calendar: two weekends, passes sold, hotel packages listed.

Dua Lipa and Tame Impala Came First, on September 1

Hits Daily Double reported on September 1 that Tame Impala and Dua Lipa, both booked through CAA, are expected as headliners, with Fred again.. in the electronic slot. The same item said BTS, SZA, Oasis and Radiohead had been pursued for another top billing and that Miley Cyrus reportedly declined an offer. Stereogum's write up of the item called SZA far likelier than either of the two British rock bands.

Complex relayed the item with the line that both are expected on the 2027 bill, and mxdwn and Stereogum carried it the same day, September 1.

Both acts arrive with a live year behind them. Tame Impala released Deadbeat on October 17, 2025, then ran a North American arena tour from July 7 in Miami to September 19 in Houston, with Djo and Dominic Fike supporting on some dates, and an Australian arena run was set for October. Dua Lipa's most recent album is Radical Optimism, from 2024, and reports in September said a fourth album and a stadium tour were planned for next year.

SZA Has Been Closest to the Top Line Since October

Hits Daily Double's October 2 item put Drake in the Coachella discussion, and a follow up relayed by HotNewHipHop on October 5 called Drake and SZA the leading candidates for a headline spot, with Radiohead as a third act and BTS said to have backed out. The Drake report traced every outlet carrying the item to that one source. Drake last headlined in April 2015, closing both Sundays, so a booking would end an 11 year wait for him.

SZA already has a Coachella moment on the record this year. At Coachella 2026 she joined Justin Bieber on the Weekend 2 stage for an acoustic version of her song "Snooze," a guest appearance and not a billing.

2026 Set the Template: Pop at the Top, Dance Underneath

The last Coachella was headlined by Sabrina Carpenter, Justin Bieber and Karol G, with Anyma's AEDEN premiere rescheduled to Friday of Weekend 2 after a Weekend 1 weather cancellation, as the Weekend 2 preview covered. Weekend 2 ran April 17 to 19.

Against that, the reported 2027 names read as a different spread: a Tame Impala guitar band at the top, a pop star in Dua Lipa and a pop and R&B star in SZA. Fred again.. keeps electronic music in the conversation. The pre festival top five for 2026 named Clipse, Future, Drake and electronic acts, and the 2027 reporting so far leans toward a live band and pop.

Passes Sold May 1, and the Poster Is the Next Date

Advance passes for 2027 went on sale May 1, 2026, at 11am Pacific, and the festival lists hotel packages for the weekends. Pollstar has estimated the lineup could arrive anywhere between September 2026 and January 2027, based on past years, and the 2026 lineup came out in mid September 2025. No official date for the 2027 poster has been published.

The poster is the one piece of the plan still missing from the calendar. Until it lands, the betting markets are guessing too: StyleCaster, citing Vegas Insider, put Olivia Rodrigo at 53 percent to headline and BTS at 34 percent, and neither name appears in the Hits Daily Double items about Dua Lipa, Tame Impala or SZA. Stereoboard lists 31 Tame Impala dates between September 2026 and June 2027, including a spring 2027 run in the UK and Europe that has not been confirmed against an official source.

What Three Names Tell You Before the Poster Does

Put the three side by side and the reporting shares one thread: each is a touring act. Tame Impala has the finished 2026 run behind it, Dua Lipa has a reported album and stadium tour ahead, and SZA has the Weekend 2 guest spot from April.
