Trouble Andrew's original Gucci Ghost chains from 2013 are on sale again in diamond and classic .925 silver through troubleandrew.com, after the original mold was dug up. Gucci's own Gucci Ghost jewellery with Alessandro Michele launched in 2016, three years after the chains, and Andrew sealed the first GUCCIGHOST silkscreen in resin in 2019.

Key Points

Trouble Andrew's original Gucci Ghost chains from 2013 are on sale again in diamond and in the classic .925 silver, through troubleandrew.com. The original mold was dug up for the return. That order matters: the chains date to 2013, three years before the House's own Gucci Ghost jewellery, and Andrew has handled his 2013 originals one at a time since, retiring some for good and bringing others back.

Halloween 2013, One Bedsheet, Two Eyeholes

The Gucci Ghost began on Halloween 2013, when Trevor "Trouble" Andrew cut two eyeholes in a Gucci bedsheet and walked around New York City wearing it. Accounts of the origin agree that it was a last minute costume, that strangers started calling him Gucci Ghost, and that he began tagging the image around the city.

Andrew was not an unknown when he put the sheet on. He is a Canadian halfpipe snowboarder who competed at the 1998 Nagano Olympics and the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics, finishing 29th and 9th, according to his Team Canada profile. The character started as a costume, and the chains from that first year are the earliest jewellery version of it.

Gucci Cast the Ghost in Silver in 2016

Gucci's own Gucci Ghost jewellery launched in 2016, three years after the chains. Creative director Alessandro Michele invited Andrew to collaborate after seeing his street art on social media, and the collection arrived alongside the FW16 line; Fashion Network dates the GucciGhost launch to September 30, 2016.

The House built the range around two motifs, a ghost with the double G logo as its eyes and a skull, both in sterling silver. The launch came with a stunt on the street where the character began. Hypebeast and Snobette both reported in September 2016 that Gucci's New York flagship on Fifth Avenue was tagged with GucciGhost work, so the brand that had once been the target of his spray cans was now the one hosting them. That puts the 2013 chains on the timeline as the version that came before the license. Gucci's jewellery work has moved a long way from that range: its newest high jewelry collection resets the Flora print, the interlocking G and the Horsebit in fine gemstones, with rubies on titanium poppies.

Ten Sets, One Pull, Then Resin

Andrew has been selective with his own originals. On July 10, 2019 he released a limited run of 10 sets of the original GUCCIGHOST design, all taken from one pull of the first GUCCIGHOST silkscreen, which he said he had not used since 2013. He then poured resin on the screen so it can never be used again.

The merch he made with 2 Chainz in 2017 went the other way. W Magazine reported hoodies, shirts and baseball hats carrying 2 Chainz's name in the dripping GucciGhost lettering, all in Millennial pink, sold at a pop up at 54 Green Street in New York on Wednesday, June 7, nine days before the June 16 release of the rapper's album Pretty Girls Like Trap Music.

Three moves, three different rules for three different objects: the silkscreen was sealed off for good, the 2017 pieces went through a one afternoon pop up, and the 2013 chains are now back on a webstore in two materials. A mold coming out of a studio fits the second and third pattern, not the first.

Artists Keep Walking Into Jewelry This Year

Andrew's return is one of several artist led jewelry moves in 2026. Takashi Murakami and New York fine jeweler Alex Moss turned Murakami's smiling flower into precious stones in June, and Denim Tears moved its cotton wreath into fine jewelry for SS26 later that month.

Slawn is next. His first jewellery collection, SLAWN X A JEWELLERS, is set for November 1, 2026 through a Hatton Garden jeweller. All three are new designs made for the occasion. Andrew's pieces are the exception, because they are the design that came first, which is what separates a reissue from a collection.

The chains are billed as the original Gucci Ghost chains from 2013, and they are sold directly by the artist rather than through Gucci. They come in two materials, diamond and the classic .925 silver, and silver is the metal Gucci used for its 2016 line. The silkscreen from 2013 was sealed in resin in 2019. The mold from 2013 came out of the studio in 2026, and the chains are available now.
