OAKLEY'S MORPHWARE TEASE IS NOT MATTHEW WILLIAMS' NEXT DROP

That word, Morphware, belongs to Oakley's Latitude design platform, not the Matthew Williams fronted Reserve line that already delivered its own fall collection three weeks ago, and the distinction is the whole story.

Two Oakleys Are Both Building Toward Fall Winter 2026

Oakley named Matthew M. Williams, the 1017 ALYX 9SM founder and former Givenchy creative director, as head of apparel, footwear and accessories on March 26, 2026, pairing him with Travis Scott as chief visionary officer. Today's teaser landed September 10, fifteen days before the anniversary of last year's September 25 launch, on a platform that has now shipped a new Morphware chapter every six months without missing one, a steadier release rhythm than the eyewear side of the brand, where the 997 dollar Infiniloop and the FatCat reissue landed on no fixed calendar at all.

Species Is Not a Random Word Choice

Oakley has called every Morphware season after something alive. Jellyfish gave Fall Winter 2025 its translucent layering. The Spring Summer 2026 notes leaned on unseen and unforeseen forms without naming an animal outright, but the Physiomorphic Geometry language stayed biological, built around how the body actually moves rather than a fixed silhouette. Calling the next chapter a new species is not a metaphor Oakley reaches for once. It is the same design vocabulary the brand has used across three straight collections, which means whatever launches next almost certainly keeps the same premise: a garment engineered to change shape with its environment, not just its color, the same premise that already turned one jacket into a bag and one short into a knee guard.

The pattern points to a Fall Winter 2026 Latitude collection landing around the September 25 anniversary, running alongside, not through, the Williams and Scott Reserve line that already has its own fall product on shelves. Oakley has not confirmed a date, a price or a single piece for whatever this new species turns out to be, and the last three Morphware launches never repeated a signature item, so guessing the object is a longer bet than guessing the timing. What the caption does confirm is that Latitude is still Oakley's separate engineering track, still keeping its own six month rhythm, independent of whichever creative director or musician is currently attached to the rest of the brand. Williams and Scott are building a streetwear facing Reserve line with archive references and utility pockets.
