FEAR OF GOD RELEASES AN AMY SHERALD HOODIE AND TEE

Fear of God released a hoodie and tee with painter Amy Sherald, printed with her 2022 work Kingdom, timed to the closing weeks of American Sublime.

Fear of God released a pocket hoodie and tee made with painter Amy Sherald on September 11, under the title "Fear of God for Amy Sherald: American Sublime." Both pieces carry a hand-printed Amy Sherald and Fear of God lockup across the chest, with a full print of Sherald's 2022 painting Kingdom covering the back.
Fear of God is marking the release with a new conversation between Sherald and writer Frazier Tharpe as part of its Eternally Driven series, discussing American Sublime, creative purpose, and the experiences shaping her practice. It's a different kind of collaboration for the brand, which has spent recent seasons tying its collections into a single design philosophy, including when Fear of God tied three collections into one design philosophy under its Eternal Perspective campaign.
Kingdom depicts a child standing at the top of a playground slide in Sherald's signature grayscale skin tones, and stands nearly 10 feet tall. The painting belongs to The Broad's permanent collection in Los Angeles, one of three venues carrying the release alongside fearofgod.com and Atlanta's High Museum of Art.
The drop lands in the final weeks of Amy Sherald: American Sublime, the largest survey of her work to date, bringing together more than 35 paintings made between 2007 and 2024. Organized by SFMOMA, the show debuted in San Francisco in 2024 before traveling to the Whitney Museum and the Baltimore Museum of Art. It closes at the High Museum on September 27, its fourth and final stop, after Sherald withdrew the exhibition from its planned Smithsonian venue over censorship concerns.
The hoodie retails for $395 and the tee for $195, both in a single Sky Blue colorway. The Broad, which holds Kingdom in its collection, is also mid-swing on its own major rotation, having just pulled Julie Mehretu's Invisible Sun off view until its 2028 expansion opens.
