Key Points

Carpet Company Season 22 Drop 4 goes online Sunday, November 1, at 8pm Eastern, and the label's own list names 17 kinds of object before it admits there are more. The Baltimore label opened the drop in store Saturday, October 31, at 11am, with the online release at carpetco.us the next evening.

The drop arrives 49 days after Drop 3 opened on September 12, the longest gap between main drops this season. What the wait bought is breadth: stools, clocks, bike locks and piggy banks sit beside the jackets.

Seventeen Objects and a Line Saying There Are More

The Sunday list reads piggy banks, clocks, belts, S TOOLS, baby tees, bike locks, work jackets, toolboxes, hats, paper weights, tees, sweaters, bags, jeans, jerseys, beanies and knife keychains. That is 17 categories, and the label closes the list with "Still a bunch more WTF!"

The count measures categories, not pieces, so it cannot be set against the seventeen pieces that stacked up for Drop 2 in August. Those were counted one by one. This list counts kinds of thing, and the label says it stops short of the full inventory.

Only six of the 17 entries are garments: baby tees, tees, work jackets, sweaters, jeans and jerseys. Piggy banks, clocks, S TOOLS, bike locks, toolboxes, paper weights and knife keychains are objects for the house, the garage or the desk, and belts, hats, beanies and bags make up the accessories.

S TOOL Weighs 20 Pounds and Comes in Five Colors

The S TOOL is a fiberglass stackable stool, billed by the label as a heavyweight, at 20 pounds each. It comes in Slime, Navy, Clementine, Rose and Jet Black.

Molded fiberglass is a rigid shell, which is how a stool can weigh that much and still stack. No price, seat height or run size has been given for the stools, so those stay open until the online release.

The toolboxes are metal, and the label sold them with a dare: "You wouldn't go into a women's purse would you?" The porcelain piggy banks and the wall clock round out the house goods. The clock has an Arabic numeral dial and a smooth sweep movement, which the label describes as "No tickin' no tockin'."

Jason Dill's Guest Pro Run Stops at 147

Jason Dill is the guest pro for Season 22, with original artwork hand screened by the label. The run is 147 pieces, a figure the label gave outright, and the tees were in store Saturday with the online release on Sunday.

The 187 hand screened Dinosaur Jr. decks in September were already a tight run, and 147 is smaller again.

Denim, Chenille, Jacquard and a Rhinestone Hood

The U.S.ARAB denim bomber jacket carries the label's warning, "Don't wear this to the airport." The hooded rhinestone denim work jacket was the first Drop 4 piece shown, on October 14, and the Bunny Rabbit chenille canvas work jacket followed with ringer tees.

Chenille shows up again: VARSITY TripleTone chenille hoodies, and plaid jacquard sweaters billed as "Business in the front, party in the back." Jacquard weaves a pattern into the cloth on the loom instead of printing it on top.

The longsleeve striped jerseys are the football piece, labeled "AC....Inter, whatever you wanna call it," which reads as a nod to AC Milan and Inter. The 50 Mile Jeans are the odd one out: 50 pairs of raw button fly denim, each reworked, repaired, patched and yarned, driven around Baltimore city by the label's own account.

Forty Nine Days After September 12

Season 22 opened with a polo on July 4, a 42 day wait before Drop 2 on August 15, then a 28 day wait before Drop 3 on September 12. Drop 4 came 49 days later, on October 31, with the Dinosaur Jr. collaboration on September 26 and the Gallery C opening with 10 YEARS OF BULLSH!T in October filling the gap.

The anniversary month also carried a $10 compressed tee with a $10,000 prize for one buyer. On October 20 the label was still asking, "Anyone got the $10k tee yet wtf?" Drop 3 had leaned on one collaborator, Paul Frank, where Drop 4 spreads across 17 categories with one guest artist.

The online window is the one still open: 8pm Eastern on Sunday, November 1, at carpetco.us. The list runs to 17 named categories, the stools come in five colors at 20 pounds each, and the Dill run stops at 147.
