CARPET COMPANY HIDES DINOSAUR JR. INSIDE A BOOK

Carpet Company Dinosaur Jr. arrives in the shop on September 26, then online September 27 at 8 p.m. Eastern. The collaboration includes 187 hand screened decks, a number attached specifically to the boards, alongside clothing and a secret book.

That staggered opening follows Carpet Company's Season 22 release, which also gave the physical shop a day's head start. This time the most unexpected object can disappear into a bookshelf. The illustrated cover opens around a recessed metal compartment, making the book a container as well as a surface for the band's artwork.

Dinosaur Jr. Graphics Cover More Than Cotton

The photographed thermals carry Dinosaur Jr. lettering in contrasting green, pink and orange, with Where You Been artwork on the reverse. Black, brown and navy grounds give the same graphic markedly different weight.

On the dark shirts, the letters supply the first bright interruption. Turn the garment around and the larger image takes over. That front and back arrangement asks a band graphic to do two jobs: a name someone can recognise across the shop, then an illustration that rewards the closer look. The secret book pushes the second job further by putting the picture on an object someone has to open.

Carpet's caption names 187 screened decks, rather than describing the entire release as an edition of 187. A shopper choosing a thermal or the book should not read the board count as a production limit for those objects. The announcement does not give an equivalent quantity for every item.

September 27 Brings the Online Opening

The online release is scheduled for Sunday, September 27, at 8 p.m. Eastern through Carpet Company's website. The physical shop opens the collection a day earlier, on Saturday, September 26.

Carpet has already stretched its releases beyond shirts: the Iron Ankh umbrella put a shaped handle into Season 22's assortment. The book adds another object whose usefulness comes from its construction. Its hidden compartment cannot be understood from the cover graphic alone.

For this collaboration, the deck count and the two opening dates are the practical distinctions to keep. The photographed book and reverse printed thermals explain the rest: Dinosaur Jr.'s imagery moves between something to ride, something to wear and something to put on a shelf.
