CARPET COMPANY OPENS GALLERY C WITH 10 YEARS OF BULLSH!T

Carpet Company opens Gallery C this Saturday, October 10, with a show called "10 Years of Bullsh!t," selected archived works from the label's last 10 years. The grand opening runs 6pm to 10pm at 100 E North Avenue, and the retail store and cafe stay open until 10pm that night.

Carpet Company is the Baltimore label run by brothers Ayman and Osama Abdeldayem, and its in store nights have been busy this fall. It stacked seventeen named pieces for its August 15 launch and opened its Dinosaur Jr. collaboration in store on September 26. Gallery C adds a room for showing work instead of selling it.

Ten Years of Archived Work in One Room

"10 Years of Bullsh!t" is the opening show, and the label describes it as selected archived works from the last 10 years. The title is Carpet Company's own, and it suits a brand whose longest running style, the Misprint Tee, is printed wrong on purpose so no two shirts match.

A decade of that kind of output leaves a lot to choose from. The label has screen printed its own test rags into a shirt and sold a joke pepper spray piece, and the show draws on its archive rather than on new product. Carpet Company framed the opening with a thank you for 10 years.

Gallery C is introduced as Carpet Company's gallery, with "10 Years of Bullsh!t" as its first show. The doors for that first night close at 10pm on October 10, when the store and cafe shut.
