Thisisneverthat's GORE TEX Downtown Layer Lands October 31

34 hours separate the first and last pair of hands on the thisisneverthat GORE TEX Downtown Layer. The Seoul label opens its Seongsu flagship on Friday, October 30, at 2pm KST, and the final region, the EU, goes online on Saturday, October 31, at 4pm CET.

Everyone else sits between those two clocks. Seoul, Tokyo, Beijing and New York all open on October 31, and the caption attached to the release names no pieces, colorways or fabrics, only the schedule.

2pm KST Friday Is 05:00 UTC, and the Rest Follows From It

Thisisneverthat says the Downtown Layer is available early at the Seongsu flagship store on Friday, October 30, at 2pm KST. That is 05:00 UTC and the first moment anyone can buy it.

The main release the next day runs on five regional clocks. In Korea, in store opens at 11am KST and online at 10am KST on Saturday, October 31, which is 02:00 and 01:00 UTC. Japan, in store and online, opens at 12pm JST, or 03:00 UTC. China goes online at 10am CST, or 02:00 UTC. The US goes online at 10am EDT, or 14:00 UTC, and the EU at 4pm CET, or 15:00 UTC.

Run the ladder from the Seongsu opening and the gaps read plainly: Korean online sales begin 20 hours later, Tokyo 22 hours later, New York 33 hours later and Paris 34 hours later.

Paris Opens an Hour After New York This Time

Thisisneverthat ran a five region schedule on September 25 for its Winter 2026 Collection 1st Release, with Seoul at 10am KST online and 11am KST in store, Tokyo at 12pm JST, New York at 10am EDT, Paris at 4pm CEST and Beijing at 10am CST. The labeled times are identical to October 31's, and the conversion is not.

On September 25, Europe was on summer time, so 4pm CEST was 14:00 UTC and Paris opened at the moment New York did. On October 31, Europe has moved back to CET, so 4pm is 15:00 UTC, and the EU store opens an hour after the US one. The label kept its local clock times and let the clocks move underneath them.

That day also carried the brand's reunion capsule with Wasted Youth, the first joint collection since January 2021. Weather Gear, the down and performance outerwear line, had come three weeks earlier, on September 4.

Downtown Gear in February, Downtown Layer in October

The name has a predecessor. In February 2026, thisisneverthat and GORE TEX released Downtown Gear on Friday, February 20, online and in store, and eye_C described a capsule of outerwear and trousers built around a GORE TEX 2 Layer Anorak Set and a WINDSTOPPER Utility Jacket set, styled as workwear. The same capsule listed a 3 layer shell with Grateful Dead patches, a checked shirt with integrated WINDSTOPPER, cargo and ski trousers, and a cap.

Gear became Layer 253 days later. Gear names equipment and Layer names a way of wearing it, one piece under another. The caption does not say which pieces it covers, so the name is the only evidence of intent.

GORE TEX Has Been in thisisneverthat's Calendar Since 2023

Coverage dates thisisneverthat and GORE TEX capsules to August 2023, September 2024, March 2025, November 2025 and February 2026, and the November 2025 line, down jackets, windbreakers and knit sweaters, was available online and in store from November 14. October 31 would be at least the sixth. The gap from Downtown Gear to Downtown Layer is 253 days, against 98 days between the November 14, 2025 release and the February 20, 2026 one.

The fabric turns up well beyond this label. Aime Leon Dore's FW26 Delivery 2 led with a GORE TEX down filled fishtail parka with a recycled nylon shell on October 9, 22 days before the Seoul label's own GORE TEX release.

What the Caption Leaves Out

The caption lists no product names. Nothing in it states fabric, construction, weights or colors, which means the first confirmed details will arrive with the Seongsu doors on October 30 at 2pm KST.

Seongsu is where the label has been building a presence. Superfuture covered a standalone thisisneverthat store opening there in December 2024, alongside a Khakis store across two floors of parent company JKND, and counted seven stores in the Seoul area plus overseas spaces in Tokyo, Osaka and Shanghai. Giving the neighborhood the first day is a choice about who gets to see the clothes first.

For anyone buying online, the instruction is the clock: Seoul at 01:00 UTC, Beijing at 02:00, Tokyo at 03:00, New York at 14:00 and Paris at 15:00, all on Saturday, October 31.
