Supreme and Timberland are bringing back the Diamond Plate 6 Inch Premium Waterproof Boot on Thursday, September 17, the first time the two brands have ever reissued a previous collaboration rather than building a new one. The boot originally released in December 2023 at 248 dollars and sold out fast, then went on to average around 700 dollars on StockX, with individual sales clearing 1,000. Two years later, Supreme is selling the exact same design again at the exact same original price.

The Reissue Is a First, Not a Pattern

Supreme has worked with Timberland multiple times, but every prior release introduced a new colorway, silhouette or construction detail. This is the label's first straight reissue of a Timberland collaboration, meaning nothing about the boot itself changed between 2023 and 2026, only the calendar did. That distinction matters for a brand whose entire retail model depends on scarcity; reissuing anything runs against Supreme's usual instinct to never repeat a drop.

Both colorways return unchanged: Wheat and Black, identical to the two options offered at launch. Supreme did not expand the palette or add a third way to buy in, which suggests the reissue is meant to satisfy demand from the original sellout instead of creating a new collecting moment.

Waterproof Nubuck Carries an Embossed Diamond Texture

The boot is built from waterproof premium nubuck across the upper, with a raised diamond shaped texture pressed into the leather that gives Timberland's familiar silhouette an industrial read instead of the brand's usual smooth finish. A padded leather collar, rubber lug outsole, debossed Timberland branding at the heel and a small red Supreme logo tab at the side round out the construction, all details carried over unchanged from the original release. Timberland has used this lug outsole compound across its boot line for decades because it holds grip in wet weather, and Supreme did not ask for a lighter or more fashion oriented sole in exchange for the collaboration credit, which keeps the boot functional instead of purely decorative.

Supreme's Yuketen Leo huarache leaned on hand woven vegetable tanned leather and indigenous Mexican craftsmanship for its construction story earlier this year. The Diamond Plate boot takes the opposite approach: the construction story is Timberland's own waterproof nubuck process, embossed instead of hand built, industrial instead of artisanal.

The gap between the reissue's 248 dollar retail price and the original release's roughly 700 dollar StockX average is the test worth watching here. A reissue at that same retail price only works as a business decision if Supreme believes demand has not cooled since 2023, and a boot that once cleared 1,000 dollars in individual sales gives the brand real data to bet on.

Timberland is running two collaboration price points within ten dollars of each other this year, one aimed at Jacquemus's boat shoe customer and one aimed at Supreme's boot resale market.

Two Years Is Short for a Reissue, Long for Streetwear Memory

Most brands wait a decade or more before reviving a design, long enough that a new generation of buyers has no memory of the original and treats the return as new information. Two years is short enough that the resellers who paid 700 dollars in 2024 are still active customers today, which makes this reissue a test of their patience as much as a test of new demand. Anyone who paid resale price for the 2023 pair watches the exact design return at retail cost within the same collecting cycle, not a nostalgia gap later.

That timing risk is real. A brand can burn trust with its resale market by undercutting a recent purchase, and Supreme is taking that risk deliberately instead of waiting out a longer cycle the way most reissue culture assumes it should.

The Real Test Is Whether It Sells Out Again

A straight reissue selling through at the original's speed would tell Supreme something no new collaboration can: that scarcity itself, not novelty, was what drove resale value the first time. If the Diamond Plate boot lingers on shelves this week, it says demand needed the mystery of a first release to hit those numbers. Either result changes how Supreme thinks about its next reissue, and there will be a next one if September 17 goes the way the brand is betting it will.

Supreme rarely explains its own strategy, which means the boot's sell through speed on Thursday is the only data anyone outside the company will get. A line forming before doors open reads one way. A pair still available online by Friday reads a very different way, and either outcome will shape how often reissues show up on Supreme's calendar going forward.
