Cristopher Nying Went Back to the Machinist's Rack

Our Legacy's Fall Winter 2026 collection reworks three specific reference garments. Creative director Cristopher Nying pulled the 1960s machinist jacket, a mechanic's coverall developed for Air Force ground crews and a 1940s greatcoat, then stripped each of its original hardware. The technical intricacies of tailoring fade into brooding silhouettes rather than sharp military lines, per the brand's own description of the line. Pockets sit lower, collars sit looser and the cut runs long enough that the coat reads as protection first, uniform second. It is the same instinct Our Legacy has run since Jockum Hallin, Nying and Richardos Klaren started the label in Stockholm in 2005, taking a functional garment nobody was arguing about and making the function itself the style statement.

The Scarf Gets Tied Into a Fading Rose

Our Legacy ties the scarves across Just Clothes into the shape of a fading rose, the collection's one overtly decorative gesture inside an otherwise stripped down rack. Everything else leans into what the brand calls a shadow of sorrow, black and dull, muted tones that soften what might otherwise read as glamour. The rack lands three weeks after Our Legacy reopened its Soho flagship at 1 and 2 Silver Place, giving Just Clothes its first real floor to hang on. Twelve Years Later, Silver Place Gets Its First Full Season

Our Legacy's Soho flagship reopened on July 17, 2026, twelve years after the address first hosted the Stockholm brand's debut store outside Sweden. Just Clothes is the first full seasonal collection to hang on the reclaimed gym hall wood floor architect partner Profan installed during the renovation. Cofounder Jockum Hallin described the rebuilt space as combining the neighborhood's Victorian warmth with the brand's industrial interior identity when Our Legacy reopened the Soho store in July, and the sorrow toned rack now filling it is the first real test of whether that interior reads the way he intended.

Stussy Never Got a One Off From This Brand

Our Legacy has run its collaboration with Stussy for roughly a decade, reworking deadstock Stussy fabric under the WORK SHOP label through ten numbered volumes, most recently Volume 10, which launched across Stussy New York, Stussy Paris and Stussy.com in June. That collaboration runs annual, not as a one time drop, and it is the closest comparison for how Just Clothes gets positioned inside the label's catalog. LVMH Luxury Ventures took a minority stake in Our Legacy in late 2024, and a collection this deliberately unflashy is the kind of signal a newly backed label sends when it wants to prove the backing did not change what it makes.
