MICHAEL B. JORDAN'S NEXT FILM ALREADY HAS A FERRARI F40

Ferrari posted a Ferrari F40 leaving Pebble Beach on Instagram this week. Nothing about that image should need a caption. Casa Ferrari tagged Michael B. Jordan, wrote Revenge is an art, and hashtagged Thomas Crown Affair, a movie that will not open in a theater for another six and a half months. Ferrari found the trailer before Amazon MGM Studios did.

This is not really a story about a supercar parked on a fairway. It is a story about who controls a marketing calendar when a car company and a movie studio both have their hands on the same asset, and the car company moved first.

Casa Ferrari Beat Amazon To The Punch

Ferrari's hospitality clubhouse on Pebble Beach's First Fairway posted the same F40 that Michael B. Jordan drives in his own Thomas Crown Affair remake, captioned Revenge is an art, a direct nod to the 2027 film's premise about an art thief. The post ran during the 75th Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, the event where Ferrari sits as featured marque this year with its own Le Mans winner and NART competition classes on the fairway.

Casa Ferrari is not a one car booth. It runs the Ferrari Parade, new model debuts and the Concorso Ferrari across the weekend, and it livestreamed cars rolling onto the fairway on August 15. Ferrari has shown up on that same fairway since 1951, when Jim Kimberly first drove his 1949 166 MM Touring Barchetta into the Concours. More than 900 Ferraris have followed him there since, which is the real reason Casa Ferrari can borrow a movie franchise and still look like it belongs at a car show. The brand did not need Amazon's permission to make the connection. It already owns the room.

This is not the first time Finally Offline has watched Ferrari send the F40 out as a supporting character. Ferrari drove the GTO, F40 and F50 down the same road in May for its invitation only Legacy Tour, putting more than 100 million dollars of hypercars on public roads. The F40 keeps getting cast, whether the audience is collectors or moviegoers.

The F40 Already Shares The Screen

Jordan was filmed in London driving the same F40 alongside a Ferrari 288 GTO and a Porsche 959, three cars that are period correct for a story about a wealthy art thief. The Thomas Crown Affair casts Jordan as Crown, a role Steve McQueen originated in 1968 and Pierce Brosnan remade in 1999, now directed by Jordan himself for Amazon MGM Studios.

Adria Arjona plays the former FBI agent chasing him. Kenneth Branagh plays a supervillain circling both of them. The twist in Jordan's version is that Crown returns what he steals to the artists who made it, not the insurers who wrote it off. The film opens March 5, 2027.

Every Italian marque used Car Week differently this month. Lamborghini built 99 Revuelto Miura homages to sell 60 years of its own history at the same event, pairing a hybrid V12 with paint pulled from the 1966 original. Ferrari did not need to build anything new. It only needed Jordan.

Jordan is coming off a Best Actor win at the 98th Academy Awards for Sinners, which means Ferrari is not borrowing a random actor's car scene. It is borrowing the industry's current answer to who sells a room, and attaching that name to a car nobody has built new since 1992.

The Movie Has Not Shown Its Own Car Yet

Amazon MGM Studios has not released a trailer built around the F40. That makes Ferrari's Instagram post the first real look at the car in character, ahead of the studio that owns the footage. A car brand outran a movie studio's own marketing team on the studio's own movie.

Call the temperature early. Casa Ferrari's post is the sharper marketing move of the two, because it cost neither side a production budget line and it reached a car audience that an actor's press tour never touches. A single Instagram post from a car brand did what a full studio marketing department has not gotten around to yet, and it did it seven months before opening weekend.

Watch for the reverse credit line by 2027. Amazon's own trailer will eventually run the F40, and when it does, car sites will call it a partnership. Ferrari fans will know better. Casa Ferrari said it first, on a fairway, in a caption that never mentioned the studio at all.
