Nike ACG Tests the Lava Flow Ultralight in Moab Heat

Nike ACG took its Lava Flow Ultralight down jacket to Moab, Utah, where temperatures can run from above 100F to 40F in one day. The jacket is filled with 90 percent goose down and 10 percent feathers and has a 100 percent nylon shell and lining.

Key Points
- Moab days can swing from above 100F to 40F
- Lava Flow Ultralight uses 90 percent goose down and 10 percent feathers
- Shell and lining are both 100 percent nylon
Nike ACG took the Lava Flow Ultralight jacket to Moab, Utah, where the temperature can climb above 100F and drop to 40F inside one day. A down jacket in a desert sounds backwards until the cold end of that range arrives.
Above 100F at Noon, 40F After Dark
Moab is Nike ACG's chosen test for temperature control, because one day there can feel like winter, fall and summer in the same 24 hours. The team covered desert scrub, red orange cliff faces and open night skies, and says the jacket gave them reassurance in the swing.
Nike ACG calls the Lava Flow Ultralight "Packable when the heat takes over and ready when the sun sets." That handoff is the jacket's job description, and Moab supplied both ends of it.
