Key Points

Carhartt WIP's Arizona Jacket for Fall/Winter 2026 is a ranger jacket rebuilt in faux leather, and the fabric is the news. The US product page lists the shell as 69 percent polyurethane and 31 percent viscose, with a diamond quilted lining, a concealed zip with snap closure and a rib knit hem and cuffs. Carhartt WIP describes the shape as inspired by an archival ranger, finished with covert detailing and a tonal Square Label. It arrives with the third delivery of the season and is available now at Carhartt WIP stores, select global retailers, the Carhartt WIP website and the Carhartt WIP app.

69 Percent Polyurethane, 31 Percent Viscose

The Arizona Jacket is an artificial leather jacket, not a leather one. The shell blends 69 percent polyurethane with 31 percent viscose, and the women's listing adds a water repellent finish and a lined body with a stand up collar.

That makes the leather look a coating on a fabric base. Polyurethane finishes tend to age by cracking at the flex points, the elbows and the cuffs, where hide would crease and darken, so the rib knit hem and cuffs matter more here than the color does. The diamond quilted lining does the warmth work, and the concealed zip with snap closure keeps the front clean.

Carhartt WIP does not name the archive piece behind the ranger shape. The brand gives the silhouette and leaves the reference unstated, so treat archival as a direction, not a citation.

Carhartt WIP Has Done This Before This Season

The Arizona is the second jacket this season where the material on the label is not the material the name suggests. The Curtis Sweater Jacket is built from a blended yarn of 51 percent acrylic, 32 percent recycled polyester, 11 percent nylon, 4 percent wool and 2 percent elastane, so the sweater is mostly acrylic and the wool is a rounding error.

Fall/Winter 2026 has been a season of finishes. The July 30 Preview Collection hand finished a destroy wash across the OG Chore Coat, Arcan Jacket and Double Knee Pant, and the camo feather tree print was stone washed for a faded, softer finish. The Arizona applies the same logic to outerwear: take an archival shape, then change the surface until it reads as something else.

Women's Cut: Blouson Body, High Collar, Hammer Loop

The Women's Arizona Jacket is cut on a classic blouson, with a high zipped collar and a kangaroo pocket. Carhartt WIP calls the detailing elevated and free of fuss, which in practice means the pocket and the collar are the only features on the front.

The Women's Arizona Pant follows, made in a relaxed straight fit with a hammer loop and tool pockets. A hammer loop is a carpenter pant detail, and it is the clearest sign that the pant came from the workwear side of the brand. Pairing it with a faux leather blouson is the contrast the set is built on: tool pockets under a jacket that looks like it has never been near a tool.

Check the Lining Before the Label

The Arizona is the one outerwear piece in the recent run that is not a textile. When Carhartt WIP released its new fall outerwear on October 7, the materials were padded nylon twill with a heavy enzyme finish on the Orman Bomber, quilted Dearborn Canvas on the Women's Raymond Jacket and a water repellent shell with a padded lining on the Stanwood Parka. Each of those is a woven cloth. The Arizona is a coated one.

The rest of the season has swapped materials the same way. The Detroit Jacket entered Fall/Winter 2026 in tobacco and dark navy, and the Oakland Shirt Jacket on August 15 moved the Arctic Jacket's chest pockets onto denim. Each takes a known Carhartt shape and changes what it is made of.

For a buyer the useful check is not the logo. Look at the lining, the zip and snap closure, and the rib knit trims, because those parts carry the jacket through a winter. The shell is a finish. The quilting and the knit are the construction. Whether the shell holds up past its second winter is the open question the product page cannot answer.
