Salomon's XT EVO keeps the exact sole unit from the XT 6, one of the most copied trail silhouettes of the last five years, then bolts a new molded plastic shell on top of it, swooping lines running from heel to toe with a grid cut into the upper for airflow. Kith is the brand introducing that silhouette to the market. On Friday, August 7, the XT EVO debuts inside &Kin Fall 2026, Kith's elevated concentration line, with launches timed to 11am across New York, Paris, London, and Tokyo at once.

The XT 6 Sole Carries Over, the Upper Does Not

Salomon built the XT EVO by keeping the XT 6's proven sole unit intact and replacing everything above it, a molded plastic shell that curves from the heel and converges at the toe, cut through with a ventilation grid the XT 6 never had. &Kin Already Ran This Play With Armani in February

This is not &Kin's first outside partner this year. The line's Spring 2026 collection paired Kith with Giorgio Armani, building deconstructed lapel less jackets in Milano crepe alongside updated pleated trousers, an Italian tailoring house lending &Kin its construction vocabulary. Fall 2026 swaps a tailoring house for a French trail running brand, but the mechanism is identical. &Kin borrows an outside brand's specific technical or construction language, then houses it inside Kith's own unbranded, upscale framing rather than co branding it loudly.

A Rumored Kith Colorway Runs Yellow and Black

Early reporting on the XT EVO points to a Kith specific colorway built around a black mesh underlay with a vivid yellow molded outer shell and blue and red accents in the lining and sole, distinct from Salomon's own quieter Grape Leaf option. Kith has not confirmed those details directly, so treat the colorway as reported rather than official until Friday. What is confirmed is the partnership itself. Kith and Salomon have worked together since at least Spring 2026, and this Fall drop is described as a continuation of that relationship rather than a first meeting.

Kith rarely schedules a global drop this tightly, 11am EST, CET, GMT, and JST within the same rollout window, which signals &Kin expects real simultaneous demand rather than a slow regional trickle. Between an Armani tailoring partner in February and a Salomon trail sole in August, &Kin has spent 2026 proving it can borrow technical credibility from opposite ends of the industry and make both read as the same brand. The tailoring paid off. The sneaker is the harder sell, and the four city launch says Kith already believes it will work.
