KIDILL'S FW26 HEAVEN COLLECTION HITS DOVER STREET MARKET LA

This is not a moodboard description, it is Kidill's Fall Winter 2026 collection HEAVEN, and as of this week it hangs in store at Dover Street Market Los Angeles, 606 Imperial Street.

Kidill has spent twelve years translating Tokyo's punk scene into runway construction. HEAVEN is designer Hiroaki Sueyasu's quietest collection yet, and that restraint is the point.

Black Rubber Meets Alpha Industries Nylon

HEAVEN pairs muted greys and blacks with black rubber distressing across the outerwear, a treatment usually reserved for Kidill's noisier seasons. The standout piece is an MA1 flight jacket built in collaboration with Alpha Industries, the American maker that has supplied military spec bombers since 1959. Sueyasu lined the jacket's structured nylon shell with soft tulle, a pairing that puts a parade ground garment next to something closer to a slip. Artwork by Trevor Brown, an illustrator working out of Tokyo's underground scene since the 1990s, appears printed across coats and layered panels as wings. Sueyasu told Rakuten Fashion Week Tokyo the anime adjacent imagery is meant to carry Japanese visual language to an international audience rather than explain it away. Dover Street Market's own concept has hosted this kind of tightly staged, purpose built inventory before. The store ran Comme des Garçons's own archive sale inside MICA Studios in May, a five day event built around Rei Kawakubo's beautiful chaos brief.

Hiroaki Sueyasu Has Been Doing This Since 2014

Sueyasu founded Kidill in Tokyo in 2014, naming the label for purity found inside chaos. His reference points are specific, the Uraharajuku scene of the 1990s and the British punk rock that scene imported, the same lineage that eventually put safety pins and bondage straps on runways decades after the Sex Pistols first wore them on a London stage. Kidill won the Tokyo New Designer Fashion Grand Prix Professional Division in 2017 and the Tokyo Fashion Award the following year, the two wins that moved the label from Harajuku shop racks to Paris showrooms. Kidill has shown at Paris Fashion Week Men's every season since, including an SS26 collection built around a Godzilla reference and an FW25 lineup shown through FHCM. HEAVEN follows that run, but Sueyasu has said this is the first season he deliberately removed the theatrical staging Kidill built its early reputation on, giving the clothes room to breathe instead.

606 Imperial Street And Three Exclusives Before This One

Dover Street Market Los Angeles has run a store only exclusive nearly every week this July. Palace's Summer 26 Drop 9 launched at the LA store only on July 3 with no accompanying online release. Petra Collins brought her STAR photobook capsule to the same store on July 18, and Levi's eight piece Sky High Farm capsule landed there on July 25, built from organic cotton with triple needle stitching. Kidill's FW26 arrival makes it four store specific drops inside one month at the 19,500 square foot space Rei Kawakubo designed herself for the 2018 opening. Kidill has previously sold through Dover Street Market New York's online shop and through the Los Angeles multi brand shop H.Lorenzo. What is new here is the physical placement at DSM LA itself, the West Coast anchor of a concept Kawakubo and Comme des Garçons president Adrian Joffe first built in Mayfair in 2004.

Skip The Hype. Look At The MA1.

An Alpha Industries collaboration MA1 is not a cheap proposition once tulle lining and a second brand's tooling enter the cost sheet, and Kidill has never priced itself as accessible punk. The math still works if the buyer wants a flight jacket that argues military structure and softness are not opposites, which is a rarer idea than another distressed hoodie. Skip it if the appeal begins and ends with the Trevor Brown print, since that artwork also shows up on cheaper pieces in the same drop. Buy it if HEAVEN's central bet, that punk can whisper instead of shout, is the version of Kidill worth owning. Twelve years in, Sueyasu finally made the quiet collection, and Los Angeles is the only city that can try it on first.
