A 2007 photo of a 20 year old Lionel Messi bathing an infant Lamine Yamal had recirculated all week before Sunday, tied to a raffle Yamal's family won through a UNICEF charity calendar, and it made Keyne's cameo on the same field feel almost scripted in hindsight. What changed on Sunday is the stage. A trophy ceremony attended by President Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, Spain's King Felipe and Queen Letizia, and the prime ministers of Spain, Mexico and Canada still could not keep the internet's eyes on the adults. Culture has stopped rewarding the biggest audience in the room. It rewards whoever looks like they forgot the room was there.

Call it early. Keyne is now a bigger draw online than most of the acts FIFA paid to be there, and a Coldplay curated, Muppets endorsed halftime show could not change that math. Do not be surprised if pulling a three year old off the grass gets a lot harder to justify the next time Spain wins something, because on Sunday he outperformed a production built for exactly that job.
