The reveal landed through adidas football's own channels, and it arrives days before the shirt goes on sale worldwide.

This is not a nostalgia play for its own sake. adidas is testing how far it can push retro branding across its biggest football partnerships in the same season it is running a full World Cup capsule calendar, and Bayern just became the highest profile fitting room for that bet.

Bayern's e.V. Crest Returns After Nearly 25 Years

Bayern's 2026/27 away shirt restores the eingetragener Verein mark, the club's original registered association crest, to an official first team jersey for the first time in nearly 25 years. adidas also tucked a smaller version of the historic FCBM monogram below the collar as a second reference point, layering two archive marks onto one shirt instead of one.

Bayern has used the e.V. crest on retail merchandise and Oktoberfest kits before, but never on the shirt players actually wear on a matchday. Bringing it back onto a Bundesliga jersey turns a gift shop detail into a piece of on pitch identity, the same trade sneaker collectors recognize every time a brand brings back a shelved logo instead of drawing a new one from scratch.

White Base, Y2K Print, One Chest Swap

The shirt keeps the white base Bayern has worn on away kits for two seasons running, then adds a tonal geometric pattern lifted from shirts the club wore in the 1990s and early 2000s. A navy polo collar with a matching V shaped insert carries red and white trim along its edge, and the same three colors repeat as stripes across the shoulders and on the ribbed cuffs.

Call this one early. adidas's Trefoil is going to keep showing up on shirts that used to be off limits to it through the rest of the 2026 World Cup cycle. Bayern's white away kit, with its e.V. crest back after 25 years and its 100 euro entry price, is the strongest version of that bet the brand has shipped so far this year.
