HIKING PATROL PARTNERS WITH ADIDAS AFTER KEEN AND DIEMME

Hiking Patrol, the Oslo outdoor brand that began in 2019 as a digital platform, has officially announced a partnership with adidas, naming no product, date or terms. It arrives with two KEEN shoes, the Jasper Rocks and the Hyperport H2, and several Diemme releases behind it.
Key Points
- Hiking Patrol began in Oslo in 2019 as a digital platform; the adidas deal names no product or date
- KEEN Hyperport H2 launched May 1, 2025, its second shoe with Hiking Patrol after the 2023 Jasper Rocks
- adidas launched the Freehiker 3 hiking family on June 15, 2026
Hiking Patrol and adidas are now officially partners, and the Oslo label closed its message with one line: "The stripes are already in motion." Hiking Patrol says it began in Oslo, Norway, in 2019 as a digital platform and has since grown into an established brand, driven by "a clear vision and the ambition to build something of our own." It named no product, no release date and no terms. What it brings to the deal is a footwear record built with specialist makers, which is the best clue to why adidas, a company whose name comes from founder Adi Dassler, signed it.
Two KEEN Shoes, Four Diemme Releases, One Pattern
Hiking Patrol has spent three years making shoes with footwear specialists, and each project came with its own color story. KEEN unveiled the Jasper Rocks with the label in September 2023, and the Hyperport H2 sandal followed on May 1, 2025, which founder Wai Tsui called the second collaboration with KEEN.
The Jasper Rocks drew its colorways from frogs. The Hyperport H2 moved to tidal zone textures in Algae Green and Okenia Pink, with an injected foam midsole, Aquagrip traction and bungee cords for slipping it on. Proper Magazine noted that the 2023 shoe was the subtler of the two and the sandal far bolder in color.
Diemme, the Italian maker, has been the other repeat partner. Hiking Patrol counts a 2022 Roccia Vet collaboration, the Movida Calcio arrived inside its Fall Winter 2024 collection, and an all black patent leather Movida Calcio 2.0 with a Vibram N Oil outsole launched February 11, 2025 on both brands' websites. The Ampezzo Rocca was unveiled that April.
Every name on that list makes shoes for a living, and each owns one corner of footwear: KEEN in sandals and hybrid trail shoes, Diemme in Italian craft. adidas is a different order of partner, a company that sells football boots, skate shoes, running shoes and a hiking line under one name.
Freehiker 3 Landed June 15
adidas launched the Freehiker 3 on June 15, 2026, a hiking sneaker family that swaps the old Boost midsole for Hyperboost Pro and Dreamstrike+ foams borrowed from running. The range covers the Freehiker 3 Ultra GTX, Mid GTX and Low GTX plus the Freehiker SL, and a Collegiate Green Ultra GTX followed in August.
That is only the performance side. adidas SPZL, the sub label that reworks Originals archive designs under Gary Aspden, has released a hiking inspired shoe called the Grisedale, and Rick Owens previewed an adidas Originals Spring Summer 2027 collection built around a bulky hiking silhouette in Paris in June 2026. A retro hiking style winter boot from CLOT's adidas Pro Model line has no official release date yet.
Hiking Patrol's clothes sit between those poles. Its Spring Summer 2026 collection, A Sense of Ease, arrived in February 2026 in faded greys, sandy beige and moss green. It updated the LT Technical program for a softer feel and better breathability, and added button down shirts, striped tops and a tracksuit program. The label calls itself a contemporary outdoor lifestyle brand, and that is the lane adidas keeps filling from three directions at once.
Brain Dead Got a Five Ten Shoe First
adidas handed a climbing shoe to a streetwear label this summer. Brain Dead's NIAD, shown in Oakland in July 2026, was its first project with Five Ten, after two years of collaborations limited to Originals silhouettes such as the Stan Smith and Forest Hills.
Brain Dead then ran five climbing sessions at Oakland's Golden Gate Wall Traverse between July 10 and July 17, giving the unreleased NIAD to climbers who finished the 200 foot route under Highway 24. It is one precedent, and a recent one, for adidas putting an outdoor product in the hands of an outside label with its own following.
Hiking Patrol's statement does not say whether its work will sit in Originals, Terrex or somewhere new. It describes the aim as a chance to "push our creative direction further while staying true to who we are," and it thanked the people at adidas for "trust, support, and confidence in our vision."
The last two shoes Hiking Patrol is credited with in coverage, Diemme's Ampezzo Rocca in April 2025 and KEEN's Hyperport H2 on May 1, 2025, landed within three weeks of each other. No adidas product or date has been named yet.
