The SS26 Temple collection landed at the Palais de Tokyo with the show floor built directly above the fountain — a choice that said something about how Owens thinks about weight and air, suspension and gravity. Four months later, four specific pieces from that collection arrived online through rickowens.eu: the OLVIA, Cantilever Sock, A-Line Bias Skirt, and Pillow Griffin Bag. No campaign announcement. No editorial press. Just product pages, availability, and a caption with no punctuation.

The Temple Microbiker from SS26 landed in early May with veg-tanned nappa lamb leather and natural wax finishing. This batch of Temple pieces is the next wave of the same collection reaching retail.

Cupro Satin at Hip Length

The OLVIA is a one-shoulder slip top, hip length, with a single off-center strap sitting across the left shoulder. The fabric is cupro satin with a glossy washed finish. Cupro satin is a regenerated cellulose fiber — it drapes more fluidly than conventional synthetic satin and breathes closer to silk. Owens uses it frequently in the Temple collection specifically because the weight of the fabric creates movement at the hem without requiring structure. The OLVIA relies entirely on that drape. There is no boning, no rigid shoulder, no internal architecture. The strap is decorative in the sense that it is singular, but structural in the sense that it holds the whole garment in place. If you misread the strap, the garment reads wrong on the body.

The Cantilever Sock and What That Name Actually Means

Owens's Cantilever line is an architectural footwear concept built around a heel construction that appears to defy load-bearing logic. The Cantilever 8 boot — previous iterations in this line — feature a stacked sole that overhangs the back of the foot by a margin that should not hold a standing body. It does. The sock in this SS26 batch sits within that same design language: a hosiery piece that works as a pairing layer for the architectural shoes. It is not a standalone item. The Cantilever Sock sold together with Owens footwear reads as a complete silhouette. Sold separately, it reads as a collector's reference. Most buyers of this piece already own the boots.

A-Line Bias Skirt: Diagonal Seam, Draped Back Insert

The A-Line Bias Skirt from Temple runs mid-calf, with an elasticized waistband and a wide rib band at the waist. The signature is the diagonal bias-cut seam that runs across the front panel and a draped insert at the mid-back. The fabric is a mix of cupro satin, silk chiffon, and viscose stretch jersey — three materials that behave differently under tension, which is exactly why the bias cut is structurally complex to execute. A standard cut across the grain on cupro satin will pucker within two wash cycles. A true bias cut distributes the tension diagonally, preventing puckering and allowing the skirt to hold its drape over time. Owens's construction team has been doing this work for 30 years. The seam on this skirt is not decorative.

Pillow Griffin: Lambskin, Magnetic Closure, Bevel Detail

The Pillow Griffin Bag is one of the recurring accessory formats in the Owens vocabulary. Soft padded lambskin, rectangular silhouette, front flap with magnetic closure, palladium-tone bevel detail at the closure point. The detachable long leather strap — thin, with a hook that can tie at one side — converts it from shoulder bag to clutch depending on how you carry the weight. Lambskin at this construction grade holds shape differently than calfskin. It is softer, more susceptible to surface wear, and develops patina faster. That is not a defect in the Pillow Griffin. It is the material argument the bag is making about time and use.
