A snake print in CDG's world is a surface investigation, not a status move. It has always been about what the texture does to the eye rather than what the skin signals about price.

The Transparent Snake collection extends that history through the Wallet format. The transparent body is a new layer. The snake is the archive underneath it.

Kawakubo recently designed a window commission for CDG's Sao Paulo boutique: a familiar retail format charged with a formal idea that makes you look at the mundane thing differently. The wallet does the same work at a price point more people can reach.

Each DSM location operates as an editorial environment where the selection is a curatorial statement. What DSM carries is what CDG believes in enough to place in a shared curatorial context alongside Rick Owens' SS26 microbiker in vegetable tanned lamb, Jil Sander minimalism, and whatever else DSM is editing toward this season.

The Transparent Snake collection appearing at DSM globally means CDG considers this material study strong enough for that context. That placement is not automatic. It is earned.

"Selected CDG shops" is also doing work in that sentence. Not all CDG shops. Selected ones. The brand is controlling where this lands, which suggests intentional scarcity and production discipline.

Buy It, Skip It, or Wait on the Price

Buy if you carry CDG already and you want the material study. The transparent PVC with snake grain is the kind of object that rewards sustained attention: different in different light, unexpected from a distance, specific up close. It does not look like anything else in the accessory market.

Skip if you need a functional wallet. CDG Wallet is not optimizing for function. The transparent body means your cards and cash are permanently on display to anyone who sees the wallet in your hand.
