Key Points

Perrotin's Panorama is open at Perrotin Matignon in Paris through January 16, 2027, a group exhibition that gives its special focus to Jeppe Hein and Josh Sperling. Works from different generations and practices hang around the two, including Lee Bae, Hernan Bas, Jean Philippe Delhomme, Wim Delvoye, Mathilde Denize, Bernard Frize, Laurent Grasso and Hans Hartung, with more artists from the gallery's roster. Panorama also ran at the avenue Matignon address in 2025, and this edition's January 16 close sits nearly four weeks past the December 20 close of that one.

Jeppe Hein Joined the Roster This Year

Jeppe Hein is one of the newest names on Perrotin's list. The gallery introduced the Berlin based artist as a new collaboration at its Art Basel booth, with a dedicated space for his interactive, poetic sculptures, and the booth showed Flamingo with Pink Balloon (2026), a highly polished stainless steel piece. Panorama gives him top billing, next to Sperling, in a room full of established roster artists.

Hein has no shortage of other commitments this season. A 303 Gallery listing of his CV shows Modified Social Sculptures at the Art Gallery of South Australia in Adelaide in 2026, and a group show called Hardcore at the Haubrok Foundation in Berlin runs from September 6, 2026 to April 4, 2027. Perrotin is placing him in a Paris group exhibition while institutions in Australia and Berlin hold his work.

Josh Sperling's Shanghai Show Was His Sixth With Perrotin

Josh Sperling, born in 1984 in Oneonta, New York, has a long history with the gallery. Perrotin Shanghai announced Paradise as his sixth show with the gallery and his first in China, and the gallery showed him in a dual booth with Aya Takano at Frieze Los Angeles in 2023. His Paris record includes Head Over Heels in 2023, and a Perrotin press release for his Chasing Rainbows show describes shaped canvases and plywood panels, a series of monochrome canvas reliefs and a large installation.

Last year he sat in a different part of the program. When Panorama ran in 2025, Sperling was among the special presentations at the Salle de Bal on rue de Turenne, alongside Johan Creten, Monira Al Qadiri and Gregor Hildebrandt, a section that closed on October 25. This year his work hangs at Matignon, the address that held the 2025 edition from October 20 to December 20.

Hartung, Lee Bae and Grasso Return From Last Year

Hans Hartung, Lee Bae and Laurent Grasso were on the Matignon list in 2025 and are on it again. Wim Delvoye took the other road: his name appeared in the 2025 Salle de Bal section, and one of his works in the current installation views is Untitled (Amor), dated 2018. Two names moved from the smaller Turenne space to the larger Matignon floors, and three stayed put.

Hernan Bas arrives with a year that already belongs to Venice. Perrotin announced in April that he would present The Visitors at Ca' Pesaro, the International Gallery of Modern Art, as part of the Venice Biennale season, and the artist is also represented by Lehmann Maupin and Victoria Miro. His last Paris show with Perrotin, The First and the Last, dates to 2024.

Three Works the Installation Views Already Show

Photographer Claire Dorn shot the views of the exhibition, and three works are credited by name. Thilo Heinzmann's O. T. is dated 2023, Wim Delvoye's Untitled (Amor) is from 2018, and Nick Goss's Jetty is from 2026. The spread of dates, eight years from the oldest to the newest, matches the show's own description of works spanning different generations and practices.

Dorn also photographed the installation of the previous group show at the same address. That one closed on October 3 with twenty one roster artists, Elizabeth Glaessner alone on the top floor with her 2024 canvas Beast, plus Bernar Venet's 2026 steel sculpture Vertical Disorder: 11 Arcs and Jean Michel Othoniel's blown glass Plum Blossom. Hartung was in that hang, so he is on the walls of both shows, and Jean Philippe Delhomme, Bernard Frize and Thilo Heinzmann were on that checklist as well.

Perrotin has also kept Paris busy in other rooms. Johan Creten's Les Chiens de Pavlov ran at the Marais gallery from September 5 to October 10 with a wall of his late father's 1980s computers, and Daniel Arsham's Time Fold ran at Perrotin London through August 8.

Panorama stays on view at Perrotin Matignon until January 16, 2027.
