LAMBORGHINI PUTS A 2017 PAINT CODE ON ITS NEWEST V8

Arancio Anthaeus Shiny is not one coat of orange paint. It is a solid light orange undercoat sealed beneath a candy pearl orange basecoat, a tri coat build Lamborghini developed for a different car entirely and is now spraying onto its newest one.

That color first went on a Huracan Performante in March 2017. Nine years later it is on a Temerario, the hybrid V8 that replaced the Huracan altogether, which means Lamborghini just used a paint code to connect two generations of its own entry level supercar that otherwise share almost no hardware.

Arancio Anthaeus Is A Tri Coat Paint, Not A Single Layer

Arancio Anthaeus is built from a solid light orange undercoat with a candy pearl orange basecoat on top, sold in two factory finishes, a matte code and this Shiny code, 0501. That construction is why the color reads differently depending on the light hitting it, the pearl layer catching brightness the flat undercoat alone never could.

Lamborghini's Ad Personam division, the in house customization studio, offers more than 400 shades across its current lineup, and 96 percent of cars now leave the Sant'Agata Bolognese factory with at least one personalized detail. Arancio Anthaeus is not a rare pull from that palette, it has been a standing option since 2017, but putting a color developed for one platform onto a completely different chassis is exactly the kind of continuity Ad Personam sells better than any one time custom mix.

This Color Turns Nine Years Old On A Car That Did Not Exist Yet

Arancio Anthaeus debuted as one of the launch colors for the Huracan Performante's reveal in March 2017, back when Lamborghini's entry level line still ran a naturally aspirated V10. The Temerario carrying the same paint code in 2026 runs a completely different architecture, a twin turbo V8 paired with three electric motors, on a redesigned aluminum spaceframe that did not exist when the color was mixed.

Colors surviving a full model generation change is not automatic in this segment, where a new platform usually comes with an entirely refreshed palette to signal the car is new. Lamborghini keeping Arancio Anthaeus in circulation says the color earned its spot independent of the car underneath it, which is a higher bar than most factory orange ever clears.

Nine Hundred Seven Horsepower Comes From Three Motors, Not One Engine

The Temerario's L411 twin turbo V8 alone makes 800 CV between 9,000 and 9,750 rpm and revs to 10,000 rpm, and three electric motors bring the combined system total to 907 horsepower. The hybrid hardware is not there to inflate the number, it fills the torque curve in the low and mid range where a high revving engine like this one traditionally runs lean, with two front mounted motors adding all wheel drive and torque vectoring the V8 alone could not provide.

Paired with an eight speed dual clutch transmission and a spaceframe more than 20 percent stiffer torsionally than its predecessor, the Temerario runs 0 to 62 miles per hour in 2.7 seconds and tops out at 213 miles per hour. Those are the numbers Ad Personam's orange paint sits on top of, and no color choice changes any of them.

The Racing Version Of This Same Car Skips The Motors Entirely

Finally Offline covered the Lamborghini Temerario GT3, which debuted at the 2026 12 Hours of Sebring with the hybrid system removed entirely, running the same V8 at 550 horsepower with none of the road car's three electric motors. Racing rules do not want the complexity or the weight, so the same engine block that helps make 907 horsepower on the street loses more than 350 horsepower the moment Lamborghini pulls the hybrid system out for competition.

Ad Personam has had a busy year connecting old and new the same way this paint code does. The division built 99 Revuelto Miura 60 Homage cars for the Miura's 60th anniversary, unveiled at Monterey Car Week in August, drawing nine exterior colors from the 1966 original onto a 1,001 horsepower hybrid V12. An Arancio Anthaeus Temerario is the same instinct running in the other direction, a color born on a discontinued platform proving it still belongs on the car that replaced it.
