Three Swirls, One Ceremony

Kith Treats is running three matcha ceremony inspired swirls now through August 2, 2026, made with tea from NODOKA. The Matcha Swirl, Genmaicha Swirl, and Hojicha Swirl each reinterpret a principle of the Japanese tea ceremony, harmony, respect, purity, and tranquility, as a cereal bar flavor.

Kith Treats spent a decade building specials around cereal and candy. This is the first time the brand has built a full menu around a single cultural practice instead of a single snack.

NODOKA Grows the Leaf, Kith Steeps the Bowl

NODOKA is the Japanese tea brand tagged in the post, and it is not a flavor house, it is a farming project. The company sources organic, JAS and USDA certified tea from mountain fields in Shizuoka Prefecture, grown near 600 meters, with a stated mission of connecting small tea farmers to buyers outside Japan.

That is the ingredient story Kith Treats is borrowing. A real supply chain sits behind the swirl, not a bottle of green syrup.

Mochi, Kuromitsu, and Roasted Marshmallows

The Matcha Swirl is vanilla ice cream infused with matcha, Rice Krispies, and Oreo, garnished with matcha and white chocolate pearls. The Genmaicha Swirl folds genmaicha, Rice Krispies, and mochi into vanilla ice cream, finished with genmaicha, kuromitsu, and sakura arare. The Hojicha Swirl runs hojicha, Cocoa Pebbles, and toffee through the same base, garnished with hojicha and roasted marshmallows.

The three teas are not interchangeable, and Kith Treats matched each one to a mix in that plays its part. Matcha is shade grown tencha leaf, stone ground into powder, grassy and highest in caffeine of the three, which is why it gets Oreo's bitter edge. Genmaicha is green tea cut with roasted brown rice, historically the tea rice stretched further for households that could not afford a full leaf pour, mild and nutty enough to carry mochi's softness. Hojicha is roasted at high heat until the leaf turns from green to toasted brown, trading caffeine for a smoky, almost cocoa like depth that toffee and marshmallow lean straight into.

The Fiegster Had Siblings

Kith Treats opened in 2015 as Ronnie Fieg's twenty year old cereal bar dream, the one his parents would not let him indulge at home. The Fiegster, Frosted Flakes, Cocoa Puffs, mini marshmallows, and crushed Oreo swirled into vanilla, launched that same year as a one off and never left the menu.

Since then the rotation has pulled in Action Bronson and LeBron James for signature specials. A three flavor collection tied to one ingredient and one cultural frame is a bigger swing than a single guest flavor, and it treats NODOKA like a collaborator, not a supplier line on a menu board.

Drops Learned From Sneakers

The release ran through Kith's Monday Program, the same 11 AM drop mechanism the brand uses for shoes, tees, and collabs, live at every domestic Treats location plus the app. That is a fashion instinct applied to dessert, and it is the same instinct Fieg built his name on.

He broke out on a 2007 Asics collaboration before turning Kith into a brand with outposts from Miami to London. Ice cream gets the same treatment as a sneaker colorway: limited window, named partner, urgency built by a calendar instead of a sign. It reads the same as the Kith Burger Bar menu or the Ronnie's London lunch menu, hospitality run with the discipline of a footwear release. Even the brand's Bugaboo Butterfly stroller moves on the same logic, a monogrammed object made scarce on purpose.

Overrated: matcha as a flavor by 2026, every coffee counter in America already sells a matcha latte. Underrated: putting genmaicha and hojicha on the same menu board, betting a customer who only knows matcha will learn two more teas by mouth. That is the real wager, education dressed as dessert. Expect the next tea partner to be sake or a hojicha adjacent coffee, dropped the same Monday way.
