GIANNIS ANTETOKOUNMPO READY FOR NEW HOME AS BUCKS LISTEN TO OFFERS

Sources said Antetokounmpo has informed the Bucks for months that he believes the moment has come to part ways after 12-plus years together, making a trade increasingly possible. The timing is absolutely wild. The Greek Freak goes down with a calf strain just as trade talks heat up. This season, the 18-27 Bucks are on pace for their worst record in 10 years and are in danger of picking in the lottery for the first time since 2015. Milwaukee tried everything. The Damian Lillard trade flopped. The Myles Turner signing changed nothing. The Bucks are 3-11 this season without Antetokounmpo. Without their franchise player, Milwaukee looks like a lottery team. With him injured for another month, that's exactly what they'll become. The Bucks were down 31 points at halftime against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Jan. 13, but when fans at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee booed the home team heading into the half, Antetokounmpo took it personally. The relationship is cooked. ## Where Giannis Lands If the Bucks do decide to trade Antetokounmpo within the next week, multiple league executives named the Miami Heat as the likeliest landing spot when speaking with Stein. Pat Riley has been waiting for this moment his entire career. It is unclear exactly what the Heat would give up in a trade for Antetokounmpo, but they have the salaries to make it work, as well as draft picks and promising young players such as Kel'el Ware, Kasparas Jakučionis, Nikola Jović and Jaime Jaquez. The New York Knicks? Dream on. The Bucks are asking for a massive haul in any trade — a high-level young player and a lot of draft picks to start — while, at the same time, Antetokounmpo has preferred destinations for his next team (most notably New York, which could not make that offer before next week's deadline). However, Milwaukee has indicated to interested teams that the organization is not in a rush to complete a move and is willing to navigate Antetokounmpo's future in the offseason if its believed price point of a blue-chip young talent and/or a surplus of draft picks isn't met, sources said. The Bucks hold all the leverage. Giannis has two years left on his deal. They can wait for the perfect offer, even if it means holding him through the summer when more teams have cap space and better picks to offer. This is the end of an era in Milwaukee. The only question left is whether Giannis gets moved before February 5th or if the Bucks make everyone wait until June. Either way, the Greek Freak era in Wisconsin is over.
