Clarks Rossendale 2 Takes Hand Beaded Yankees Detailing

Ronnie Fieg's Clarks Rossendale 2 now carries hand beaded embellishment and chain stitched New York Yankees detailing, and it is the loudest of four shoes in the winter 8th Street by Ronnie Fieg for Clarks Originals line. The Rossendale 2 BT gets matching beaded and chain stitched treatment, while the Laddow Shearling and the Rossendale Inverno cover the cold weather end of the set. Kith sells all four in store, online and through the Kith App, and they are available now.

The Yankees pair arrives after KAWS's Yankees collection in July, Siegelman Stable's 13 piece collection in August and Kith's own 1996 anniversary apparel in September. Each of those used a different object: jerseys and bats, a wardrobe of jackets and caps, a leather jacket and a commemorative baseball. Clarks is using a shoe and a needle.

Four Shoes, Two With Shearling Linings

The winter line has four models: the Laddow Shearling, the Rossendale Inverno, the Rossendale 2 and the Rossendale 2 BT. Kith's product pages list shearling linings on the Laddow, which has a leather upper and comes in two leather colorways this season, and on the Inverno, a suede slip on that also arrives in leather versions.

Inverno is Italian for winter, which makes it the most literal name in the set. Kith's listing for the suede Inverno in Caper Green names a shearling lining and a gum rubber sole. An earlier Kith description of the Laddow lists a suede upper with a ballistic nylon overlay, so the shearling version is the heavier take on a shoe that began lighter.

The Rossendale itself is Fieg's take on the Clarks Wallabee, with a narrower profile than the original. Sneaker Freaker's report on the line says the Rossendale 2 builds on that first shoe with a Vibram outsole added to Clarks' crepe base. None of the listings describes a lining on the two Rossendale 2 models, so the cold weather case rests on the Laddow and the Inverno. For anyone buying on warmth alone, that narrows the line to two shoes, and the two leather Laddow colorways are the widest choice inside it.

The Yankees Work Is Beaded by Hand

The Rossendale 2 and the Rossendale 2 BT both feature intricate hand beaded embellishments with chain stitched New York Yankees detailing. Kith's listing for the Yankees Rossendale 2 calls it a special collaboration with the team and names custom fringe details and classic tri branding, in tan and maple colorways.

A beaded upper is a slower manufacturing promise than a printed logo, and it changes who the shoe is for. It is a keepsake first and a winter shoe second. Fieg took the Knicks creative director job in November 2022, so a Yankees shoe from him gives his work a second New York team.

The Wallabee family also had a second treatment this autumn. In September the Inoue Brothers' Wallabee dye work put Okinawan indigo, Amami mud dye and hand applied paint on two finishes, in a Japan edition of 200 numbered pairs. That is dye and drips in Japan, then beads and baseball in New York, in the span of about six weeks.

October 25, 2024 and October 30, 2026 Both Opened at 11AM

Winter 2024 of the 8th Street line went on sale on October 25 at 11AM ET through the Kith App, in store and online. The Winter 2026 shoes followed on October 30 at 11AM Eastern with the full Kith Winter 2026 collection.

The label dates to at least Winter 2023 and has run in Spring 2024, Winter 2024 and Spring 2026 since, when it added the Bristol Loafer, according to House of Heat's coverage. Kith's fifteenth anniversary year also produced a 444 page footwear archive book that catalogues more than 1,800 collaborative footwear models from Fieg's archive, so the Clarks shoes are one more entry in a very long list. Of the four winter models, the Yankees pair is the one that adds a sports team to the label.

Shearling runs through the rest of the season. Timberland's Wheat 40 Below revival brought back a 2013 Fieg design with a shearling lining on October 30, and Kit Harington's shearling campaign put shearling jackets and boots in the English countryside. Clarks Originals is one of three footwear partners named for the season, alongside Timberland and adidas Originals.

The verdict splits the way the line does. The Laddow and the Inverno are shoes for November, and the Rossendale 2 pair is a collector's object with a team name on it.
