BALENCIAGA SUMMER 27 PUTS NEO GAZAR IN EVERYDAY CLOTHES

Balenciaga showed its Summer 2027 collection, Les Coraux de la Liberté, on October 1, 2026 at the Tennis Club de Paris, applying techniques from its 55th Couture Collection to everyday clothes. Neo Gazar, a stiff silk, serves as both outer fabric and internal structure, and the set centered on a 2025 wrapped linen coral sculpture by Aude Franjou.

Key Points
- Neo Gazar, a stiff silk, is both the outer fabric and the internal structure.
- Shown October 1, 2026 at the Tennis Club de Paris, for women and men.
- The title comes from Aude Franjou's 2025 wrapped linen coral sculpture on the set.
Neo Gazar, a stiff silk, forms both the outer fabric and the internal structure in Balenciaga's Summer 2027 collection, which Pierpaolo Piccioli titled Les Coraux de la Liberté. He revived the fabric in July, and it returns here in clothes meant for daily wear, from jeans to T shirts.
Oct 1 at the Tennis Club de Paris
Balenciaga showed Summer 2027 on October 1, 2026, inside the Tennis Club de Paris during Paris Fashion Week. The collection covers women and men and applies techniques from the house's 55th Couture Collection directly to ready to wear. Lauryn Hill, Law Roach and Lola Tung attended.
Sheer and firm fabrics alternate through the line, and Neo Gazar supplies the firm side as shell and as hidden scaffolding. Winter 26 ClairObscur was announced in March as Piccioli's first major collection announcement since he took over from Demna in July 2025. Summer 2027 moves the couture work into the daily wardrobe.
Stitching Borrowed From the Inside of Tailoring
Piccioli took stitching from the internal structures of tailoring and used it to create new volumes. On leather and cotton it produces basque like shapes that nod to silhouettes from the Balenciaga archive.
Shape is where the house has been working on bags too. The Hourglass Avenue Bag enlarged Demna Gvasalia's 2019 Hourglass silhouette for Winter 26, and the Nodo Tote and the Silhou Tote now carry the same attention to form into Summer 2027.
Aude Franjou's Coral Gave the Show Its Name
The title comes from Les Coraux de la Liberté, a 2025 wrapped linen sculpture by French artist Aude Franjou that sat at the center of the set, orange toned and shaped like coral. The name points to Corallium rubrum, a red Mediterranean coral that adds only a few millimeters of growth each year and never produces two identical branches.
Piccioli took alternating sheer and firm fabrics and shifting silhouettes from that coral. The Nodo Tote and the Silhou Tote close the accessories in supple leather, shaped and draped by hand.
