He built his entire career in Los Angeles and chose to keep building it next to Luka Doncic rather than start over somewhere with a bigger check and a colder timeline.

You can chase stars in trades all you want, but keeping your own homegrown talent, the player who already fits next to your franchise guy, is how good teams stay good.
