Real Madrid's LV Sweater Puts the Crest on the Back

A navy crew neck sweater with "Vuitton" in leather letters across the chest and Real Madrid's crest embroidered on the back is the quietest piece in the club's 2026/27 Louis Vuitton wardrobe, and it explains the logic of the whole set. The house name is worked in leather or embossed into it. The club's crest is worked in thread. Every garment in the collection follows that split.

Louis Vuitton's menswear studio, led by Pharrell Williams, built the football wardrobe around embroidered club crests and Monogram accents, and described the journey as the house's Art of Travel. The materials say more than the slogan does. Louis Vuitton's own line for the collection is "Victory travels in Louis Vuitton," and it covers three squads under one design: Real Madrid's men's football team, its women's football team and its men's basketball team. Louis Vuitton announced the partnership in June 2025, so this is the second wardrobe the studio has made for them.

Leather Letters on the Chest, Thread on the Back

The sweater puts the Louis Vuitton name on the front in leather and the Real Madrid crest on the back in embroidery. A viewer meeting a player head on reads the house; a viewer watching the player walk away reads the club. For a garment built for travel days, that is a considered order of operations: the brand leads, the club follows.

The polo follows suit in miniature. It carries an embossed LV detail at the hem, a small mark on the new beige shirt that replaces last year's navy. Coverage describes no crest on the polo, so the hem is the only branding it carries.

Put the two faces next to each other and the leather and thread split repeats: the house gets the pocket and the emboss, the club gets the chest and the needlework. Nylon is a travel fabric, light and quick to dry, and the reversible construction means a player can pack one jacket and wear either identity. Reports differ on whether the Monogram side is the lining or a full outer face, so the construction detail to trust is the pairing itself.

Initials Sewn Inside, Two Signatures on the Label

Inside the jacket sits a label bearing both the Louis Vuitton and Real Madrid signatures, which marks the piece as part of the exclusive partnership. The cashmere coat goes one step further: each player's initials are sewn inside, and it comes with a removable Monogram scarf. One report says the coat comes from the house's permanent collection, so the personalization is the only thing separating a team coat from one on the shop floor.

Nothing in the set is for sale to the public. Reports say the pieces are reserved for players and staff, and the one public door is the Mon Monogram service, which lets customers personalize items such as the Keepall. A player's initials inside a coat apply that idea at a higher tier.

The Monogram Is 130 This Year

Georges Vuitton drew the Monogram canvas in 1896 as a tribute to his father Louis, and the house has spent all of 2026 marking its 130th anniversary. The same year produced a stained glass trunk hand painted over 800 hours at Pharrell Williams' Fall Winter 2026 show on January 20, and an Acid Rain Monogram on neoprene tailoring for the SS27 show on June 23. The Trunk collection, which coverage dates to February 2026, supplied the starting point for the team wardrobe, which covers the men's and women's football teams and the men's basketball team.

Williams has led the house's menswear since February 14, 2023, and his first team wardrobe for Real Madrid now enters a second season. Reports expected the squad to wear the new set on its trip to Rome for the Champions League match against AS Roma.
