PDF Channel's Strada Low Pelle Arrives in Black

PDF Channel's Strada Low Pelle in black is available now at pdfchannel.com. The name does most of the describing: Strada is the label's recurring boot shaped footwear line, Low is the cut, and pelle is the Italian word for leather. It follows the cheetah collar Strada Low that retailers stocked earlier, and it comes from a label that has put out a product, a capsule or a campaign every few weeks since July.

Pelle Means Leather, Strada Means Road

Strada is Italian for road. PDF Channel, the label founded by Domenico Formichetti in 2023, uses it for a footwear line that retailers file under boots and sneakers at the same time. SSENSE lists the line as Strada Low Boots and Strada Boots, and other stockists call the low versions sneakers. The shoe sits between the two categories, which is the point of it.

The high versions give the line its materials. The Strada G Brushed Boot uses a cow leather upper, neoprene padded collars, a thick midsole and a rubber outsole. The Strada Bordeaux is a high top with a full grain leather upper and a sock style interior. The low cut version retailers listed earlier, the Strada Low in cheetah yellow, kept the leather upper and the sock construction, added a cheetah pony hair collar, and rode on a rubber lug outsole.

PDF Channel's own copy for the new pair is three lines long: the model name, the color and the site. It does not list a material. The Italian word in the name carries the claim, and the line's earlier pairs show what leather means in the Strada context: cow leather, full grain leather, a sock style interior and a lug sole.

A Full Size of Room Inside

Retailer sizing notes on the Strada boots say they run about a full size large, and buyers are advised to size down. Those notes come from stockists, not from PDF Channel, and they apply to the high tops the retailers described. A low cut with a sock style interior can fit differently, so the safe reading is that the line is generous and the low is untested in the notes read here.

The black colorway is the plainest the line offers. Retailers have listed Strada pairs in black, white, off white, bordeaux and cognac, plus a Strada Low Pony in cognac, a Strada Low Graffiti and a Strada Low Suede. Black leather with no pony hair is the baseline the others depart from. The retailer Feature carries the Strada G Brushed Boot in black and in brown, and a Strada Bordeaux in a pink colorway, so the line already has a short run of tonal leather pairs to measure the new one against. The label is known for oversized silhouettes, and a black low cut leather shoe is the quietest thing it can put underneath them.

Marotta, Not Milan

PDF Channel is usually called a Milan label, but its goods are made in Marotta, Italy, a town near Formichetti's hometown. The name stands for Project Domenico Formichetti, a personal project that began as a way to fill gaps in his own wardrobe. Before PDF he ran a more logo driven label called Formy. The runway debut came at Milan Fashion Week Men's in January 2025, and the label puts more weight on footwear than most streetwear houses of its age.

Every Few Weeks Since July

The Strada Low Pelle lands in the middle of a steady run. In July PDF and Champion released Street Ballerz, a fourteen piece capsule with four footwear styles, two accessories and a basketball drawn from Champion's archive. The same month PDF's SS26 campaign put six musicians, including Future, DaBaby and DJ Snake, in six pieces from the Free Dom collection, and a separate campaign shot the PDF SK8 line, including the Stella High, in New York skate parks.

On August 29 the label delivered its first FW26 drop, seven months after it staged the collection as a five act performance at Teatro Lirico Milanese, with a Napapijri collaboration, the Skidoo PDF Anorak Jacket and the Bering PDF Duffle Bag. Set against that run, the Strada Low Pelle is the only entry that is a single shoe in a single color: the Champion capsule had fourteen pieces, the SS26 campaign six, the SK8 line a full campaign and the FW26 drop outerwear and bags.

The announcement gives no price. It gives a name, a color and a web address, and the shoe is live.
