The brand is calling it the Mirage edition, a verde silver magno paint job it says nods to the region's own idea of classic elegance. Whether that specific claim holds up to more reporting than a single Instagram post is a fair question. The platform underneath it does not need one.

The G63 Underneath Is a 577 Horsepower Truck, Mirage or Not

The 2026 AMG G63 runs a hand built 4.0 liter V8 biturbo producing 577 horsepower and 850 Newton meters of torque, paired with a nine speed AMG transmission and permanent all wheel drive. That drivetrain is unchanged whatever paint goes over it, and it is the actual reason a boxy 1970s military silhouette still starts at nearly 200,000 dollars in 2026.

The G Wagon has been rap's default trophy truck since the 2010s, showing up across Migos and Future verses as shorthand for having made it, the same signal Mercedes is now aiming at one region instead of a national market. Base MANUFAKTUR customization already adds bespoke paint finishes, individually tailored colors, and details like reworked bumpers and running boards to the platform, including two brand new shades for this model year alone, the same toolkit tuners like Brabus have pushed even further on a Mercedes chassis. A regional edition built on top of MANUFAKTUR is not a stretch. It is the program working as designed, just aimed at one market instead of a global price list.

Mercedes Benz Middle East Says Only 35 Will Exist

Mercedes Benz Middle East announced the Mirage edition through its own account, describing a limited run of 35 units sold only in Saudi Arabia and neighboring Gulf markets. The brand describes the finish as verde silver magno, a shimmering paint it frames as a tribute to the region's own sense of classic elegance, a specific claim that has not yet been independently confirmed by outside reporting the way the base G63's horsepower figures have.

That gap matters for how you read this. A 577 horsepower drivetrain is verifiable from Mercedes' own spec sheet. A 35 unit production run and a regional exclusivity claim currently rest on one Instagram post from the brand itself, which is a real primary source, just not the same standard of proof as an independent count of build slots or a dealer invoice.

Scarcity claims are cheap to post and expensive to fake once buyers start asking dealers for build slots. The Mirage G63 has neither yet. No public price, no confirmed production count beyond the brand's own claim, and a cultural reference described only in a caption. Both cars use the same MANUFAKTUR toolkit and the same regional bet on archival color as a luxury signal. Only one of them has shown its work.

Buy the Platform, Wait on the Story

The verdict here is not about whether a 577 horsepower G63 is worth its base price. That math already works for the buyers who have kept the G Class in production since the 1970s, trophy truck reputation included. The verdict is on the Mirage specifically, and it is wait, not buy, until Mercedes or an outside outlet actually prices this edition and confirms the 35 unit count independently.

A limited regional exclusive with no price tag and one source is marketing doing its job well. It is not yet a documented product, and a buyer with real money should want the second confirmation before the first one.
