A.P.C. and Barbour release their second collaboration on October 16, 2026, worldwide, after a Japan only first capsule in December 2024. Per Fashionsnap the outerwear is Beaufort, Spey and Sugarlump Bedale in wax cotton reissued from Barbour's archive, with A.P.C. denim, tartan caps, bags and rain boots.

Key Points

A.P.C. and Barbour release their second collaboration on October 16 at 10AM CEST, 9AM BST, online and in stores worldwide. The first capsule, in December 2024, was sold through the two brands' Japanese online stores and nowhere else. This time the Spey leaves Japan, and the cloth it is cut from comes out of Barbour's archive.

A Capsule Only Japan Could Buy

The first A.P.C. x Barbour capsule went on sale December 26, 2024, through both brands' Japanese online stores, with pre orders opening December 19. Its centerpiece was a cropped version of the Spey, Barbour's fishing jacket, shortened in the body, fitted with extra metal eyelets and an extra D ring, and made in peached cotton. A removable patch made the jacket modular, and A.P.C.'s denim work jackets picked up Barbour's corduroy collar.

The logo work was the quieter joke. A.P.C.'s wordmark was reworked in Barbour tartan with a small Barbour logo beneath it, printed on tees and crewnecks. Fashionography tied the capsule to Barbour's 130th anniversary, and Barbour was founded in 1894. That first drop was a single tight capsule, and Highsnobiety noted it was sold only in Japan, and Hypebeast labelled it an inaugural collaboration, which is why the October 16 release reads as a second chapter and not a one off.

Beaufort, Spey and Sugarlump Bedale in Reissued Wax

The autumn winter 2026 capsule is bigger. Fashionsnap reports an outerwear line of three jackets, the Beaufort, the Spey and the long cut Sugarlump Bedale, all made in a Premium Thornproof Wax Cotton reissued from Barbour's archive. Wax cotton is the cloth Barbour built its reputation on, and a reissue means the fabric itself has a date on it, not only the jacket pattern. The Beaufort dates to 1983 in WWD Japan's account.

Around the jackets sits the A.P.C. half of the range: denim jackets, jeans and shirts, caps embroidered with the A.P.C. logo on Barbour tartan, bags and rain boots, per Fashionsnap. Japanese outlets disagree on which jacket is cut for men and which for women, so the brands' own pages will settle sizing before October 16.

A.P.C. describes the collection as "a story told through the meeting of two legacies and a simple silhouette." The silhouette is the Spey again, the same jacket that anchored the 2024 capsule.

Raw Denim Since 1987, Barbour Since 1894

What A.P.C. brings is denim with a long paper trail. A.P.C. has sold untreated raw denim since 1987, when founder Jean Touitou travelled to Hiroshima and made a handshake deal with a weaver who still supplies the brand with no signed contract. The denim jackets in this capsule come out of that supply line. The wax cotton comes out of a different one: Barbour's, a house founded 132 years ago.

That makes the pairing two heritage ledgers laid next to each other. A.P.C. spent late September on the same theme, with Heritage in Motion, the Fall Winter 2026 image photographed by Luca Ward under Ludivine Poiblanc's creative direction that places denim and dark tops on the edge of a white bed above red carpet. Heritage in Motion kept the focus on A.P.C.'s own denim. The Barbour capsule brings in someone else's archive.

Barbour Has Two Big Partners This Autumn

Barbour is not short of attention for Fall Winter 2026. The house launched its autumn winter campaign, The Barbour Way, on September 14, with two reworked tartans, Birchwood and Shadow, across menswear and womenswear, according to FashionUnited. Apparel Group says the global campaign stars Sienna Miller and Sir Idris Elba, and Barbour has also put a Patchwork Transport Waxed Jacket in the line, a fresh turn on a waxed cotton tradition the house dates back more than a century.

The Impression reports a third Paul Smith collaboration as well, a 38 piece collection inspired by the Scottish Highland Games. So Barbour enters the cold months with two outside design houses on its rack, one from London and one from Paris, and A.P.C. is the Paris one.

The test for the second capsule is simple and public: a global launch at 10AM Paris time on October 16, built on a jacket already proven in cropped form and a Barbour archive fabric brought back for the occasion. The 2024 version went to one country. This one is sold online and in stores worldwide.
